Halloween is coming up and it’s always a great chance to help develop our story-telling skills! A scary story is amazing because it’s not only what you write that makes it scary, it’s also in HOW you tell that story. This week, your challenge is to write a scary story (one you come up with or one that you’ve heard before). This way, on Friday, we’ll get to hear each other read our scary stories out loud in class!
Here’s a list of 13 SPOOKY WORDS that you could use to help tell your story!
To get you in the mood, here is a story a friend of mine told my girls when we were camping this summer! It’s called Hairy Toe!
If you wish to read your story and record it before class, you could use vocaroo or an app like garage band and attach the audio file as part of your homework when you submit it.

It was a full moon he went to say his goodbyes to his brother in the graveyard then I heard a voice saying come to the abandoned house and then in the house was a witch and a wizard saying drink the green potion or be under a enchantment I was petrified so I disided to drink the green potion it was weird I was moving when I wasn't moving I was posested and I walked to a place I have never seen before it was pitch dark and then I was falling and fell down this thing WOW what's this place part 2 THE MAZE.

Once in a dark night it was very cloudy and there was someone walking in the forest. After all the clouds spread all out and the full moon was there so the human looked at the moon and suddenly something started to happen. He was turning grey and had sharp claws then he turned into a wolf. He howled so loud that all the wolves came and saw this abandoned house. They opened the creaky door and saw a shadow. Shadow was floating in the house. The wolves ignored it and went in. >Suddenly then the door slammed at the back but it wasn't windy out so the wolfs were saying the shadow was doing it and it was. After that the shadow faded away and the wolves went outside from the creaky door and never came back.

one day I want walk and going to the walk and then I see two wizard he is scary and I am going to the see halloween houses and see halloween houses and I see to girl wizard and see four wizard them scary and I am run quickly to the home I see thes wizard in the kitchen window and thes is boys and girls and going to the bed

In 1454 there was dark forest that had a monster larking in a house. 5 minutes down from the village, a monster lived there.

Present Day 2022, October, 31st HALLOWEEN NIGHT

2 twins wanted to go to the dark forest to see what it was like. They asked and asked. Their Mom kept saying no. Now it is Halloween night
And they asked to go trick or treating together. Their Mom said yes, but they were really going to see the dark forest. As they entered the dark forest there was a sign saying BEWARE OF FOREST. They ignored the sign and they thought it was a joke so they went in. Then they spotted the house. It had vines and broken windows. Then they went in the house. Then they saw a stair case they went up the stair case and then they found a monster. They ran and ran and ran as fast as they could until they got to their house. Than a copter landed and grabbed the monster and took him away.

The clock reached 7: 59 …almost there …BEEP! It was 8 am. Today is a fresh start, Athena said in excitement. She heard a car door open. They are here! Athena said, looking out of her window. This was the day she turned 18 and moved out of her orphanage to the property her parents left behind. She burst out of her room, goodbye everyone! She said, goodbye, the lady who owned the orphanage said. She went outside to the taxi and got in. How are you? The driver asked. Oh, I’m good! Athena said. Oh, I’m good too, thanks for asking. They started driving and eventually arrived at the destination. Athena was expecting it to be a beautiful castle her parents had left behind since they passed away, and they were very wealthy. She expected it to be white with roses everywhere. But then stead, her smile faded away as she came out of the car. Athena could already hear the ghastly whispers of spirits. She felt her spine tingling. Up ahead was a phantasm large castle, grey and old. It was quite creaky. She then looked at her arm, and that moment she had goosebumps. Athena saw something in the window. A fast movement swung bye. Although, Athena tried to ignore it. “let’s go in,” the taxi driver said. Inside it had long halls with red dusty carpets. Where is my bedroom? Athena asked. They headed upstairs, and the driver put her bags down. “Here”, he said. This was where I saw her! Athena replied. He looked confused, and paused for a moment. Saw who? He asked. Never mind, she said. No one would believe her. She settled in her bed and unpacked her bags. Then the driver exited the castle and drove away. For a week everything went well, until odd things started happening. Dead animals like rabbits in the front lawn, or sinks randomly turning on, all kinds of things! So one time, she was sitting in her room staring at the ceiling. I wonder where I’m going to get a job, she said. Then, the window opened. It’s freezing! She said, getting up to close the window. OW! Something said. WHAT WAS THAT! She yelled. I’m trying to get through, here! A old lady said. A GHOST!! She said. Yeah, well I’m actually your grandma, Athena! She said. My grandma? Yeah, she said. Wow! And you’re dead? Athena asked. Yes, She replied. All of the sudden, the lights started flickering! Oh, wear this! The grandma said. She wore the odd hat the grandma gave her. Why? Athena whispered. The lights have problems, nothing macabre she said. No, that’s the spirit. The hat is to keep you invisible, the grandma said. What? She asked, taking it off heading over to fix the lights. But the door SLAMMED! HELP! She said, trying to get out. LEAVE MY HOUSE! A voice said, and then she saw a CHAINSAW floating in the air, but of course no one holding it. OH NO!!! She said. It came toward her, and her only option was to jump out the window. And so, she jumped. Sadly, she didn’t make it. The house was closed down 2 weeks later for renovations.

Most people don't believe or think dolls can come to life or they can haunt your house but this is the story of how a doll that randomly appeared out of nowhere and tried to KILL ME .one night my parents where working late and I was home by myself watching T.V when I heard a strange noise but I just kept on watching tv and ignore the noise a few minutes past and I heard the same noise but louder . I figured it was just the T.V show I was watching so I turned off the T.V . Then I called my mom to see when she would come home she didn't answer so I called my dad same thing happened I took deep breaths and looked outside not that far away from my house was a graveyard I saw a shadowy creature lurking behind something I closed the curtains and went upstairs I looked behind me there was a doll staring right at my soul like it wanted to kill me. the doll had pale skin with two braids she wore a plain dark red dress with matching shoes and she had a evil grin on her face without knowing what to do I threw her out of a nearby window and heard that strange noise I wanted to get this off of my mind so I looked around and went downstairs and started watching T.V again but something didn't feel right I looked beside me there sitting on the couch was the same doll that I threw out of the window I ran out of the house and heard the noises that I kept on hearing louder and louder I kept on running I didn't stop I looked behind me I saw the same doll again chasing me started to cry I yelled for help but nobody could hear the doll caught up quickly I looked in front of me there was the dark figure I saw before .I started to cry louder as the street light flickeredI looked up at the sky I saw the full moon I looked back at the figure who took one step closer to me and then took its hood of I felt dizzy and I knew this was it the end of my life and the end of this story.

Once there was a very old house. No one went there becasue they know that no one was living in there. The house was look like alive because who ever drives there car near, house was making a strange sounds. One day a little girl went there to see what would happen if some one would go in there. Then she went inside. It was so dark, that one light just turned on by itself. She got scared and said to her self, 'she can do it'. She continued to walk trough to upstairs to see what there was? So she saw a creepy doll just standing there and suddenly it moved. The girl was really, really scared that she ran out side to home. After that girl never ever went to that house again.

one day in 1954 there was a kid name sam he was home alone beacuse his parents were out for dinner sam was watching tv when it shut off he was scard beacuse now one was there and then the light went out then it happend everything in the world went black it was a black out he thought he would die by somthing but nothing was happending he was waiting for his parents to get back 2 hours still no parents the black out still was happening then he heard a window break he ran upstairs and there he saw his parents about to die it look like a wear wolf scrach but how could they get through the window then they must of got thrown by somthing then he saw it was a showdow proson then he ran it was so hard to see beauces the black out was still going on it was right behid him then he trip he got up but he was bleeding on his legs and his hands a hurting they are all red then he got conered by the wear wolf and the black showdow he kept on strait to the wear wolf and jumped over him he ran back to his house and was hiddening when they entred the house he was scard for his life knowing he could die he was hiddening down stairs when they went up stairs he tiptod out side and ran and then the parents were gone no where to by seen and same with the kid but the kid went to his friends house to live for every

One dark night a man named Marcus and his friend Jim were taking a walk. They were just talking but then they see kept on seeing something like a dark man. They were scared so they ran to Marcuses home and watched a movie.Then suddenly their tv turned off, after that the lights flickered and flickered and they were terrified. Then a dark figure went right in front of them and said " SAY YOUR LAST GOODBYES" , they tried running but no matter what they can't. The dark figure was possesing them and put them inside a bag, he tied up their mouths and put a spray that made them fall asleep. When they woke up they were in a dark foggy forest.
It was hard to see but they saw that there was a gigantic werewolf was surrounding them, they are frightened. Jim notcied that Marcus had scissors so they cut it up and ran as fast as they could. The werewolf was chasing after them, Marcus bumped into a tree but jim didn't noticed. The werewolf approached Marcus and almost killed him but he stabbed the wolf the his scissors and ran safely back home.

One night one foggy night a little boy was wandering the woods disobeying his parents when they said to him to go to bed he thought that he did not need to listen to his parents he said I'll go to bed when I want to but they made him go to bed so he peered Out under the covers and waited for them to be gone then he snuck out of the house and went to the forest his parents have always told them not to go into the forest because of many reasons like little Johnny you cannot be doing this it's too dangerous kids have gone missing in there. Johnny our main character doesn't believe his parents so he decides to go into the woods anyways she thinks it's fun in there he built a teepee and all is glad. Until he hears a twig snap he thinks probably just cuz of the rain Little Johnny fought in his six-year-old mind when there really was no rain. He can hear multiple Twigs snapping as The Twig snapping is got closer and closer then he something tall was emerging from the Shadows he ran back but the creature Falls him almost faster than him. He ran back into his house and shut the door and has he heard a loud banging on the door the creature had given up and went back to the forest defeated the next day he told his parents about what he had saw so he went into the forest again and he found nothing but a note saying you tried to prove yourself. Maybe show them at night maybe I will show so the kid went with his parents into the forest at the night and his mom and his dad went with Jhony and he showed them his teepee. that they took a picture of and then the mom looked at the picture to review.Then she saw it a giant tall figure she didn't know what it was but she said we need to get out of here now. Then the tall figure emerge from the Shadows sane going somewhere you just got here they shouted for their kid to run when while the parents were taken by the figure. The end

SO one day I was watching Shrek memes on youtube then all of a sudden..."AHHHHHHHHH!!!" Screamed Joe. "Joe chill the dark isn't that scary." I told Joe "I'm not scared of the dark!" Exclaimed Joe. "Then why are you screaming??" I asked. "THERES NO WIFI BOB!!" He said sobbing and shaking the TV. "Oh my goodness."

it was halloween night and joe and his friends were about to go to bed.Everyone was very excited because they were all having a sleepover.they turned off all the lights but then they saw some in the distence.they said"who are you" and then they did not hear anything. they started screeming and rushed to turn on the lights but nothing was there.They were all confused so they just turned the lights back off but then it stated to move.they all started to move back because they did not know who it was. after that they turned on the lights.They thought they would see someone there but they did not see anyone.they all tried to go upstairs but now they were all stuck and now they all have the curse.

One day a girl named Mia wanted pancakes. Her mom said okay we can make pancakes. When she finished the batter for the pancakes, she poured it onto the pan and made a weird shape. Then they heard a strange noise. “It is coming from upstairs,” said Mia. “Mia stay here and I will go upstairs” said Mia’s mom. She goes upstairs and two minutes later it becomes silent. Mia doesn’t hear a thing from her mom, so she goes upstairs to find her even though she said not to go upstairs. She could not find her mom any where. She calls her dad on the phone and tells him the story, and he thought she was joking. When he came home, he was shocked he could not find her at all. Her dad said, “let’s go next door to the haunted house and look for her.” They entered the haunted house and suddenly her dad goes missing too. Mia got scared and looked around and saw traces of them on the ground like her moms scarf and her dads hat. Then she finds a ghost behind her and she ran and ran and then the ghost just took her to her parents.

Because it is Halloween I'm going to tell you a scary story.
The excat year and date that this story took place is unknown, but I can tell you that it is said to have taken place in the early 2000s. A young girl about our age, who goes by the name PaTRICIA wanted to prove that she was not scared of anything. Not even haunted shreks at 3am. SO her best friends ROLaNdA and WAndA, dared her to go into the house of shrek at 3am, with nothing but a stale cucumber sandwhich AND she had to wear a onsie. Patrica wanted to prove that she was brave SO BADLY, that she accepted the dare. So at 2:49 am, with her stale cucumber snadwhich and a bottle of sanatizer( that her friends said she could bring) she set off on the very short walk to the SHREK HOUSE. you are probabally confused. "WHAT THE HECK IS A SHREK HOUSE". well long ago this guy called shrek lived there, he went to get some milk and never came back... Patricia was petrified as she opened the LOUD CREAKY DOOR. But she stepped in cautisouly. She walked through the house, set down her sanatizer and sandwhich and lay there. surprisingly 1 hour passed and NOTHING HAPPENED. But soon patrcia began to her footsteps coming from upstaris. she froze for a moment. then she heard a clang. She grabbed her cucumber sandwhich. she heard more footstpets. SOMEBODY WAS COMING DOWNSTAIRS!!!! Patrica grabbed her sanatizer and CHARGED to the stairs, while she squirted sanatizer EVERYWHERE. She saw a shadowy figure, holding some sort of weapon. when her vision cleared she could see SHREK HOLDING A SKATEBOARD AND SOME MILK. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! screamed patricia

The Lost Soul

It was a foggy day in October and Jack was walking home from school. Even though his name was Jack, everyone called him ‘J’. J liked Halloween and all things scary but really loved mysteries. As he was continuing to walk home he saw a skeleton in the park which was only a few blocks from his house. Although J, was a little bit nervous, he went over to the skeleton to say hello. As soon as J started talking to the skeleton, The skeleton picked J up and started running towards the graveyard.

Once they arrived at the cemetery, the skeleton dropped Jack on the floor and he was covered in dirt. Then the skeleton started speaking to J. In his creepy voice, the skeleton shouted at Jack, I am going to steal your soul for eternity. Before the skeleton could say another word, Jack got up so fast and started running for his life but the skeleton was too fast and caught up to Jack. He sucked the soul out of Jack and left Jack with no memory of what happened. Jack found his way home but was a zombie.

When at home, J’s mother started talking to him, she knew that something was wrong. J wouldn’t answer her. She asked him 1 million questions and was yelling at him, where did you go? What happened to you? All Jack could mumble was…pppppaaaarrrrkkk. So J’s mom ran to the park to see if she could find out any information. At the park the skeleton was still there and as the skeleton made his way over to J’s mom, he was shouting, I will take your soul! Jack’s mom was so upset that she picked up a nearby branch and struck the skeleton on the head. The skeleton broke down in a pile of bones on the floor and Jack’s soul was released.
Jack’s mom ran home to find that Jack was acting normal again.

On a sunny summer day in May, at a lovely hospital, a baby girl was born. Her parents named her Emma.

On her fifth birthday,Emma got a doll. The doll had a clay head, and blazing blue eyes. She had stringy braided brown hair, and a little bow in it. The doll wheres a pink stripped dress with white add-on's, and light blue tights. She had brown old fasioned shoes that had (Again) little bows on them.Emma named the doll Jojo. They went everywhere together. Like the park, the play place, and school.
But as Emma got older, she was teased because she brought an old baby doll to school, even though she thought the doll was cute, and well loved.
Emma was ashamed of her doll. She thought that if she keep the doll, that she would get teased more and more often. When she got home, Emma threw Jojo away. She still felt guilty about it, but she never looked back on the decision.

The next day, when Emma woke up, she thought to herself, 'Something doesn't seem right.' She turned around and saw Jojo sitting right on the window sill. Staring. Emma was a little freaked out, but she thought that her mom probably found the doll that Emma had loved so much, and fetched it out of the trash, and put it on the window sill.
The next day, when she came back from school, she went to put her backpack in her room when the doll was on the window sill. That night she slept in her parents room.

The next day, when Emma came back from school, she ran right up to her room and got the doll.
Emma had a cemetery near her house. Emma never liked that cemetery. She thought it was creepy. And whenever she got close to it, she got the feeling that somebody was watching her.

Emma brought a shovel and the doll to the cemetery. She had told her parents that she was going to the Library.
When she got to the cemetery, she got shivers.
Emma found a clear spot on the gravel, and started to dig a deep hole.

When Emma was done digging the hole, she placed Jojo in it. Emma covered the doll with the soil she had dug up.
When Emma was done she ran. As fast as she could, to get out of the creepy cemetery.

But someone stopped her. It was something in a dark mysterious cloak- like the one that Death had. But this creature was far too small to be Death. And, this creature was not made out of bones like Death.

Emma tried to get past the creature, but it stopped her; and held her down in place, so she couldn't move. When the creature did this the hood of the cloke fell down. And there was the doll's head staring at her.
Then the dolls eyes started to glow.
And weirdly enough, I didn't feel like myself any more. I looked at myself and screamed.

I was now a doll.

a man falls through the floor and appears inside a room the man had no idea how to escape he heard light jazz music after 5 minutes it stops and then 10 minutes later the man hears a knock and then footsteps when hes all alone then he sees a picture of himself on the wall and then he felt breathing on his neck and then he tried standing by the tv and he escaped the man was petrified

Once upon a time there was little Town, on The hill up on the right there was a small Beautiful cabin for sale. On Friday the 14th there was an open house, and everyone in the town wanted to go. The first visitors walked around, there was a beautiful kitchen and it was sparkling clean. The wife said “ who cleans this house? “ . “I don’t know” says the husband. Next they went into the bathroom, everything was so shiny. But the toilet was gross. Then something green popped out of it and ate them. Nobody bought the house, it just stayed up for sale for a very long long time and the town kept getting smaller and smaller. And the open house continued every Friday.{the end}

One day my parents went to work and I was home alone. I thought this would be a good day so I went on with my day and decided to go on with my day. So I went to make waffles and I turned the corner and the stove was all ready on. Now I said to myself now what in the world could be happening right now I don't know I said to myself but all I know is I didn't do this anyway I am just going to make the waffles so I did. I opened the cabinets and got out what I needed then I started mixing the in ingredients into a bowl and I went to go put them into the pan. Next while I let them sit I watched a show from my island. I was just about to go make a coffee but my coffee machine was on already. I have NO idea what's happening right now but I am not letting this stop me from having a good day. Anyway I started making my coffee and while it was getting ready to start I turned around and their were 4 waffles on a plate with a coffee already made Ok I said to myself I guess I don't have to make a coffee. Ok so I finished my breakfast I am go to change into nicer clothes so then I went up the stairs to get changed. As I walked up the stairs I kept hearing a noise it sounded like someone else saying (hello I hope you can hear me) And It kept repeating ok so I followed the noise and it started to get louder and louder ok It sounds like it's coming from the bathroom I guess here go's nothing. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh what is this a grave yard with a bunch o've bloody things and heads without body's whatever I answered to the questions I asked my self. Ok I need to solve this mystery It can't be ME, It can't be my parents and It can't be any of my friends because half of them are away and everyone who is not away had a sleepover or saw friends so I don't know but this all makes sense way the waffles were ready my coffee and how the stove was on. I guess It's a mystery. Then the doorbell rang I looked though the peep hole and nobody was their so I opened the whole door up and it was a box not just any box It was huge. I brought It inside and It was kind of heavy but not that bad.So I thought let's open this so I ripped it open and it said HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA I got you good but here is a plane ticket to go see your grandparents in Florida because they live there but this is a unknown seller. BYE. OK SO the bad news is I don't know who this is but I do know I am going on vacation so bye Iv'e got some packing todo and I don't know who will clean up the bathroom but I just won't worry about that. I guess because of this I NEVER want to stay home alone for this reason and this reason only. But at least It ended in a kind of good way.BYE for now.
