Europe keeps it close in Game 1 loss to Canada
When Team Europe captain Anze Kopitar showed up for the opener of the 2016 World Cup of Hockey final against Canada, a note from Wayne Gretzky was waiting in his dressing room stall at the Air Canada Centre.
His note to Kopitar was not the Great One choosing sides before Canada cracked open the best-of-three series with a 3-1 victory.
He lives in Los Angeles and has not only become friends with the talented Kings captain, a two-time Stanley Cup winner, but Gretzky admires Kopitar, opening earlier in the day that he's one of the top-two players in the game.
Kopitar has played a massive part in Team Europe's surprise run to the final and was a key performer in this tight opener.
Was it more of a surprise that Kopitar and Co. kept it close on Tuesday or was it more of a surprise that Canada suffered through its first clunker in a long time?Probably, a little of both.
"There's nothing to lose for us. We played well in their zone and we were getting chances. But we shot ourselves in the foot a couple of times. We gave them a couple of freebies."
After a strong start from Team Europe, Canada's top line took advantage of a turnover for yet another Sidney Crosby to Patrice Bergeron to Brad Marchand goal.
Ryan Getzlaf stripped Europe's stud defender Zdeno Chara to set up Steven Stamkos for a 2-0 lead. Team Europe was fantastic later in the first period and for long stretches in the second period when Canada got messy.
Before and after Tatar's goal, Canadian goalie Carey Price kept his mates in the lead with a series of brilliant stops to improve to 15-0-0 in a Canadian sweater.
As the game drew to close Crosby once again, came to the rescue, setting up Bergeron to give Canada breathing room in the third period.

As the third Period approached, Crosby was able to get his hands of the puck a took a shot at net and..... SCORED to get the 3 goal. Which got Canada to a 3-1 and kept the lead. Team Canada was really happy and all of the Canadians watching were screaming with joy. Lets just say I don't think that any of the Europeans that loved hockey weren't the happiest people on earth. As the game came to an end everyone looked at the score board to see that CANADA WON THE GAME!!!! everyone was so happy. And that Thursday night Canada was brought back together.

As Sidney Crosby skates down the ice everyone cheering him on he skates through everyone and shoots and he scores!!!! The game ended and everyone was so curious to see the score. They looked up at the score board and Canada has won the game!! After the game ended the coach gave all of them a great talk and they were off to there houses. Boy was that a good game said Sidney Crosby. Can't wait to see what happens next.

As the 3rd period ended you could see both teams tried there hardest. Though Canada was victories against Europe, both teams put up a good effort. You could see and hear the Canadian fans were really happy. On the other hand you could also see and hear the European crowd clapping for their team because of how proud they were. At the end Canada won the World Cup but it was not a easy win. The whole team had to work together to be victories.

Everyone was preparing hard, as the third game came, Sidney Crosby had scored, which brought Canada to the lead! Canada had won the world cup, from all the work they did, and all the sweat they flow. You can hear the fans shouting from the back, the players hugging each other, thousands of people were cheering for them, everyone was failed with happiness and joy.

The third period was closing in fast. Tension was high as Crosby skated swiftly across the ice, one stride at a time. He drew back his stick, sending the puck sailing smoothly across the ice, right into the waiting arms of Bergeron. He flew with the puck, quick as a cat. The puck found a way into the guarded net as the crowd waited with bated breath. Once everyone had seen what had happened, the stadium erupted into cheers as the Canadian team embraced, celebrating a hard fought and well earned victory.

In the end the coaches came to cheer the team with there medels and the other team just sitting down with there mad faces they were so happy they went home happy and they celebrate the end

As the third period quickly crept up on everyone, Sidney Crosby was gliding down the ice, maneuvering the puck around everyone around him. Tension was rising as he got closer to the net, Crosby shot, as all Canadians held their breath. The glossy black puck got closer to the net, quick as a bullet, it touched the back of the net. Canadians everywhere cheered for the amazing point! The Canadians left winning 3-1, with the European team left in their dust.

The buzzer went off to announce the third period. Canada won the face-off. The puck went to Sidney Crosby. He zoomed past the defense, and the stands roared screaming at the top of their lungs "Go Crosby" or "yeah!!". Europe fans screamed "stop him!!" and "get the puck". The crowd could be heard from Canada to... well...Europe. Crosby shot the puck, the goalie missed the save, and the puck flew in TOP CORNER! The crowd went nuts screaming "YEEEAAAHH!!". The commentators yelled "IT'S A GOAL". The buzzer went off indicating the game was over. Canada screamed in happiness. Canada had won the game and had made every Canadian happy Crosby and team Canada were exhausted.

The 3rd period was almost over and Sidney Crosby had the puck. When he skated towards the goal, he took a shot and SCORED! The crowd is clapping and yelling with excitement. Everybody was happy, exseped team Europe and Europes fans. Then 2 minutes later the buzzer whet off. Canada has won the GAME! The crowd is even more excited as before. Canada was still so happy that they beat Europe

The third period was almost over when Sidney Crosby got the puck. He skated towards the goalie of the other team. He shoots. Every Canadian fans holds his/her breath. The goalie dives but misses AND THE PUCK GOES IN THE NET!!!! The fans were screaming with delight (they were also hugging each other) and celebrating. As they finished celebrating, the buzzer went off to announce that third period was over. AND they continued celebrating because CANADA WON!!! The fans hugged each other and they continued screaming. The team was high-fiveing each other and hugging each other too. The team said 'good game' to each other and they high-fived each other too. Well, that sure was a really good game. Also, there was A LOT of celebrating.

It was close to the end of the third period when Sidney Crosby gracefully got the puck and made the whet seemed like a long trek to the other teams net to win the game. As he rose his tick he could see the determined look on the goalies face, one of concentration. The whole arena was silent as he started the last shot of the game. The puck flew through the air at an amazing speed. The goalie reaches for the puck, but slips his hand and in to the net making the score 3-1. The Canadians watching squealed with delight and cheered for Sidney Crosby. That night the Canada team accomplished something great.

It was ever so close as the dinging of the bell that notified that it was the last period of the game. The players herd it's ring and relieved it was there last chance to win. They started out with scraping of the skates on the ice the cool are ripped passed the players as canada tried to get the puck. The players almost could read the other team's minds and new there every move. The other team was struggling wondering what to do. Canada tuke this chance to score. The sweat streaking down their faces as the attempt to score. They knew where to go before they need to they took the shot and it made it in? Yes it did! The moment the puck crossed the line, the dinging of the bell rang the crowed cheered canada had score. The team filled with bubbles of excitement was about to burst they looked at the scoreboard. the other team had really won by two points. The team started to frown but then one teammate called out " come on guys it was only one game it is not the end of the world". " and besides you guys read it wrong we are the visitors not the home team". The team looked at the scoreboard and laughed with embarrassment they had read it wrong! There cheeks turned bright read and they felt their faces go hot. Even though the had beaten the other team the went to congratulate them with good the were. That was the first game and there were more to come!

Crosby skates through the opposing teams defence, sweat streaming down his face. he controls the puck, and nears his goal. he shoots.... in a heartbeat, time seems to stop. he SCORES! the Canadian hockey fans were cheering, and the Europe fans were groaning. his team yelled in delight. all the tiring work was worth it! they WON!

As the bell in the second period went, the sound booming across the NHL stadium, the Canadians went to their bench. Crosby takes a drink of some Gatorade and feels his insides washing and the dryness suddenly disappearing in a nanosecond. As the sweat poured down his spine, he looked at the score board. 2 v 0. They were winning.

COMMERCIAL BREAK

It was in the late in the 3rd period, Europe had catched up. Crosby looked at the score 2 v 2, with 2 minutes left. The other team took the puck in the face off and Canada blocked them and closed them in, the other team forced to circle behind the net. 1 minute left. Then one of the CA stole the puck and headed down the ice, so snowy of the fiery game. 30 seconds. He passed to Crosby, and he speeded down, like a shooting star. 15 seconds left. He shot and it bounced of his stick, then he saw the other team racing to the puck, he sped up and got the puck, he did a fake and the defender slipped and fell. 5 seconds left. He went up to the net, and did a fake backhand. 4 seconds left. The goalie fell for it. 3 seconds left. He aimed. 2 seconds left. He shot. 1 second left. Everything went in slow motion. Suddenly an ear spliting crack came. IT WAS THE GOAL SOUND AND ENDING ALARM IN EXACT UNISON, THEY HAD WON THE WORLD WIDE CHAMPIONSHIP! Fans cheered loudly as Crosby was named MVP and was handed the World CUP.

The puck dropped for the third period for Canada vs. team Europe in hockey. Sidney Crosby passed the puck to Patrice Bergeron for the goal! What an amazing effort by Canada's first line. All together their number of points is 10 goals and 22 points in five games. I guess Wayne Gretzky’s note gave Kopitar confidence for the game even though they lost it was a close one.

"No pressure, no pressure", those word were in Sidney's head as he was skating down the ice. Somehow all the Canadians just knew that something amazing in hockey was going to happen. Sidney's whole team was just as nervous as him, maybe even more nervous. All the hard work now put to the test of both teams. Sidney passed the puck to Patrice Bergeron, he then passes the puck to Brad Marchand and he knew that this was his moment he pulled the puck back and let the puck soar through the air....

The third period at the hockey final Stanley Cup in the Air Canada hockey stage. There were over 10,000 crowds that are fearful. "GO GO GO! Canada please score a goal!" The crowds cheering*. Suddenly a few minutes later, Sidney Crosby shot a puck and managed to score a goal! "YUS! Wohoo! Phew." The score was 3-1 which they played against Europe I believe. He was skating on ice with awesome manipulating with one good hockey stick swoop "SWOOP*". The goalie was concentrating on the puck. Suddenly it slipped and unfortunately, it lead to a goal. However, the hockey game was very frightening this night which at least Canada accomplished a trophy with golden medals.

it was the 4th quater.canada wanted this win so they keept it close til the very end and europe had many chances.but they lost to CANADA 1.canada end up winning so ya teaam canada for the win

CANADA WON! At the final of the World Cup of Hockey between Europe and Canada, Canada's Team got victory.
The audiences were very excited, they sang O Canada together, they screamed, they called the names of hockey players. It just liked a joy ocean!
All hockey players of Canada were in the middle of the stadium, they hug each other, they waved to the audiences, somebody had tears on their faces. It was a good memories for everybody.

Team Canada was expected to win by a lot more but Team Europe Worked hard enough to keep the game close and make it exiting for fans to watch. Never underestimate the opponents team when they have nothing to lose.

CANADA WON THE GAME! Canada with a great victory over Europe every body in the Air Canada center screaming with happiness. The Canadian team with sweat dripiling down there cheeks tired from the great game they had . Canada has worked so hard to obtain this title of the hockey world cup champions the Canadian team stud proudly with the trophy.

At the end, Canada won the game, but not before Team Europe had them work hard for the title. It was a close game. Both teams tried very hard, and showed off their best skills. There was some definite moments, however, that tipped the balance over towards Canada's advantage.

The thankful day have came there was a smile on everyone face the happy I something smalles good in the kitchen it was the most important meal in that day I was so happy I help People that are old help my mom and dad and sisters that's how I injoy thanksgiving and being helpful and thankful
