Think back to watching the Wonder movie last week. What did you like, not like? Did you find a big difference between the movie and book? For your blog post this week, I’d like each of you to write a paragraph that talks about what you liked, didn’t like and talk about three differences you saw in the movie that weren’t in the book. For each difference, explain why you think the director chose to do it differently. For example, one difference I noticed in the movie was that during the graduation, all the students sat with their families instead of together at the front of the hall. I didn’t understand this difference at all and the only reason I can think that the director chose this was because they wanted to show his parents and him together when he won the award but I still didn’t like the difference. I think the scene is more powerful if he goes up from his row with his classmates and then you could see his parents away from him cheering. Choose your own three differences from the movie and talk about them!

well I liked the movie and the book. The difference's from the movie and the book are. One the movie cut out a lot of parts that happened in the book. Two it didn't mention Augusts herring aids and when they get a dog. In the movie it shoed when Jack will punched Julian like what happened in the book but the book didn't mention the fight that Jack will and Julian had.

What I liked about the movie was that it still had the same story but it missed a few big details. Maybe this is just me but didn't really like the makeup they put on the actor because I imagined Auggie a whole different way. My 3 reasons of difference are they missed the HEARING AIDS and the key things in nature retreat trip! The hearing aids were the thing that made the whole nature retreat entertaining and dramatic because before we learned how he got them how he felt and how his mom would get angry at him if he lost them. They missed the part about how Amos chucked into Eddie and how Auggie's sweater ripped in half. I was pretty disapointed about how they made that scene. Auggie just had a little rip in his sweater. The Daisy dying situation I thought would make me cry but I didn't . Usually when one person cries I cry. It's just like Daisy left and thats it. I would've liked to see when Isabel and Nate were in the hospital and how Daisy fell asleep. I was SUPER MAD at one part when they didn't even show their new dog bear! I think the director made it different because he couldn't fit all the details in one 2 hour film.

I liked the movie because it still went through almost the same story. My three reasons for difference are the movie missed some MAIN PARTS of the book like August's hearing aids, the "war" and even August's family getting BEAR! It was pretty sad when us as the audience didn't get to see him at the hospital but when Isabelle and Nate came home without Daisy in their arms, it made me want to cry but I didn't.

I liked that jack was rely nice to august and that he was defending august most of the story. I didn't like that they took out alone of they original story. I found that in the movie it was silly short and did not have a lot of parts in the movie as they did in the book, for example when august and his family got a new dog after the old one died it didn't happen in the movie

I liked the movie because it told people that you shouldn't judge a book by it's cover when people would always look at Auggie and see what was on the outside, and not on the inside. I didn't like how they made it really sad, and that they didn't show a lot from Jack's point of view very much. The differences between the book and the movie is that in the book, it says that Auggie gets hearing aids, but in the movie, they don't even mention it. I think the director chose to do it differently because he thought the hearing aids weren't very important. Also, in the book, they say that at the nature retreat when Jack and Auggie meet Eddie, there are like 6 other people and they have a huge fight, but in the movie there is only 1 other person and they have a small fight. I think the director did that because he didn't want to hire many actors and that he didn't want them to fight a lot so that it was more age appropriate. Lastly, they didn't show Auggie getting the High Honor Roll award at the graduation like he did in the book. I think the director did that because the Henry Ward Beecher Award was more important than the other award, so he wanted it to be a big deal.

I liked the movie and the book about the same. One scene that they cut out was the walk home,I think the director chose to cut this out because they would have had to get a lot of actors to be the parents. One of the scenes in the movie they didn't have in the book was the Minecraft scene.Something that they cut out from the book was that the movie at the nauture retreat the movie was inside and it was at night, I think that the director thought it would be hard to film in the phich black.

I think they did a very good job with the movie. I liked it because it explained the message clearly and it was very emotional. I did not like it because it left out a lot of great parts. It is different because they explained parts that they didn't explaine in the book or vice versa for example when they were at the nature retreat the watched The wizard Of Oz instead of The Sound Of Music, or when Bear wasn't introdused and they also didn't give out other awards at the end. I think the directer chose to do that because people might know The Wizard Of Oz better and they didn't want it to be to long.

I did like the movie because it was very interesting and I also liked going on a field trip and I love field trips because it's exploring the world with your friend(s). I found a giant difference between the movie and the book because to me, August looked pretty ordinary and I don't see why everybody makes it seem like he's so bad, HE'S A NORMAL KID! 3 differences from the movie and the book. First, they showed the Wizard of Oz instead of Sound of Music. Second, they didn't show the Minecraft part when Jack apologized to August. Third and Finally, then parents didn't get BEAR for the family and I was so sad when Daisy passed away.

I liked the book and the movie because I got to see what was happing and what it looked like but in the book it explained a lot of things in a way that you can understand it. I didn’t really like how they didn’t do some of the things that they did in the book for example like when he got hearing added and the kids stole it and when they got there New dog bear.So in the book they made it seam like ageist was REALLY ugly but in the movie he wasn’t that bad at all. I think the director chose to do it differently because they didn’t want a deformed kid that looked wired to be in a movie and get made fun of in the movie.

I really liked the movie and the book because they both send a great message and are both very emotional. I think the only reason that I don't like the movie as much is because they cut out a bunch of the big details and over all it just didn't include everything that was in the book. I think (just my opinion) the three biggest changes are: First in the book they talk about how terrible and horrifying Auggie's face was but in the movie, it was barely anything. I mean sure you could still see where the stitched up August's cleft palate and he had a big scar on the side of his face but that's basically it!!! I think the director did this because in real life the actor, Justin Tremblay, didn't have Treacher Collins so with the prosthetic and makeup they couldn't make him look that bad. Second, in the book, they made a big deal about Daisy dying and how August and Via were balling their eyes out and petting her and kissing her and saying goodbye but in the movie they just showed Via getting August in his room and then it’s skips to outside where there Mom gets into the car and leaves!! Being a dogo fan I'm offended. I can't find a reason for this other than not having enough time, but that's boring so I'm going to go with the director is a cat person!!!! :O Last but not least, The grade five graduation. In the book it's a big thing with everyone in the school there and everyone is getting there awards but in the movie they just cut to where August got his Student of the year award. I think the directer did this because there was just not enough time to fit everything in a two hour movie. I do like the movie and the book but overall, I think the book is better!!!!

I loved both movie and book, they both sent a soft message saying choose kind, and dont judge a book by its cover, they also made it very emotional, that sends it out hard. Differences that I didn't like was when at the end they didn't show bear at the end. They also left out a big part with the hearing aids, like at the nature resort, and at the doctors. They also didn't show August sweater getting ripped open, but at the pickup after the nature retreat his sweater was ripped. EXTRA: I think maybe they over exaggerated of August's face looks, it didn't look bad.

I thougt the movie was really good but i liked the book better because the book had a lot more detail and a lot more interesting parts in it.What i did not like about the movie was that they left out a lot of good parts and also because they did not show the part when they got a new dog and they also left out the part when they watch sound of music outside. So that is why i liked the book a lot better than the movie.

The book and movie, Wonder were both great but the movie left out a lot of great key points that would have made the movie way, way better.

I liked the Wonder movie because it basically had the same story as the book it’s based on and it showed that kindness and understanding of friends allowed August to feel accepted and happy. However, I still liked the book more because it was more complete and it told the story better than the movie.

I liked the movie because August thinks that it will be horrible but he makes friends and he has a great time. What I didn't like is how some major parts aren't in. For example, when August gets hearing aids. The differences are that when August's parents are having the argument about August going to school, in the movie they are having the argument inside the house but in the book they're having the argument inside the car. Another difference is that when August met Mr. Tushman in the book they go down the hallway and meet Mrs. Garcia but in the movie they just meet Jack Will, Julian and Charlotte. When August went to meet Jack Will, Julian and Charlotte, Charlotte was wearing bright green Crocs in the book. However in the movie Charlotte isn't wearing those bright green Crocs. When August went to the nature retreat field trip the movie they watch in the book is The Sound of Music but in the movie they watch The Wizard of oz. As I said in the first part, August didn't get hearing aids in the movie. After Eddie got into a fight with August, they find the person and found August's hearing aids in his locker but in the movie they don't find that person but the teachers do find out.

i thinka difference in the book and the movie is that they didnt do the hearing aids witch personely i liked. and i think that it should be in the movie because it is really good. secindeed difference is auggie face its not as bad as they explained like look at the cover of the book its not like auggies face in the movie.third rerson is that whan they did the over night movie they were inside not outside on the field like a drive in but they weree inside on the ground a tiny little screen NOT IMPRESSESD!NNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD!!!!

What I liked about the movie was that Jack and Auggie stood up for each other when Eddie down to the ground Jack and Auggie stood his ground and when Julian said "Why do you hang out with that freak". So Jack punched Julian to stand up for Auggie. I did not like about the movie was that the mom was so rude to Mr. Tushman and that they left out so many parts from the book like Auggie didn't get his hearing aids, didn't lose his hearing aids. That is why I did and didn't like the WONDER movie.
