The Kindness Of Others

1/14/2016

I read about this video the other night and I knew I needed to see it.  I was blown away by the fact that this monkey cared enough and it was a part of his genetic makeup to spend 20 minutes helping to revive the other monkey.  In our world, where sometimes we only hear about negative things or sadness in our country and others, I think it is so powerful and inspiring to watch this act of true kindness in nature.   This week, I’d like for you to pass on the positive feelings and write down a story of true kindness that you know about.  It can be something that you read, something that you’ve done, heard about, or that someone you know has been a part of but share the kindness story you know.  If you don’t know a kindness story, create your own by finding time to be kind to someone else (preferably someone who doesn’t expect it) and make their day.  Let’s have a Friday where we read about the amazingness of others and use their inspiration to make us strive to be better!

Once Mrs.Bottosso told us that she went to the StarBucks Drive thru and she was told someone bought her coffee, she then bought the drink of the person behind her.The worker told her that this has been a chain of over 50 costumers! I thought that it was amazing that one person decided to make someone' s day and because of them, over 50 other's did the same. This is an example of how one small thing you do can make a big difference.

Whenever my parents keep on working and working non-stop I feel bad because I know that I should be the one helping them so this week whenever they have a lot of work to do I will put myself in their shoes and try to feel how much work it is. So few days ago I was helping my dad clean up the kitchen so no one needs to do it after dinner. So I started to clean up the kitchen and my dad said thank you after.
Helping out around the kitchen is not that big of a deal, and it is also nice to see someone with a smile on their face. A small thing can help a lot. This is my homework for this week!

One day my mom went to TIM HORTON'S and was buying Timbits for my siblings and I and she asked the staff what the people behind us were ordering so that she can pay for the customers behind us.The customers behind us were so happy and grateful that they live in Such a great and Kind place our home and Pride and Joy CANAAAAAAADA!

This proves to me that you don't need to know people to make their day and to help them out or even do the same thing as my mom!
Have a great week/weekend and...... TOODLES!

One day me and my mom were in the car driving to the mall. When we stopped at a red light a homeless man and his dog were coming around to each car to ask for some money. My mom and I felt very bad so we decided on giving him some money. After giving him that money I felt very good because I was helping someone who was not as fortunate.

Remember that even the smallest things can brighten someones day!

One day my dad went to Rome, Italy for a business trip. On his last day He decided to go shopping and buy us souvenirs. When he was a cashier a lady inform of him needed to pay 5 more dollars but she was struggling to find any money in her purse. all she had was tons of about 5 cent coins so My dad went up to her and told her that he would pay the 5 dollars. The lady was really happy and thanked my dad!
"Be kind whenever possible and that possible is always possible ."
This is not part of the assignment but actually when my dad walked out of the store this lady was looking at where his wallet was and she actually got her daughter and she took the wallet from my dad and started running away but when she opened my dads wallet all he had was a credit card so she gave the wallet back and ran again.

After hearing about Leo's story and hearing about so many people being kind and giving him a chance. For example the people helping at the refugee camps and the UN helping Leo come to Canada. Also when he came to Canada everybody gave him a chance. For example asking him to speak publicly. After that he started a club for refugees to make friends and now he is trying to raise money to build a library in Liberia. So you see being nice rubs off on one another. It keeps going because if someone is nice to another person and that person is nice to another person it just keeps going. That is my example of kindness.

When I was 8 years old I was playing soccer then 2 teenagers wanted to vs me and my 5 friends. After when we suggested who should be defence, who should be striker, and who should be goalkeeper. One of the teenagers were running straight to the goalkeeper which is me and then when he tried to kick the ball he decided to slide kick me. I was crying and I couldn't get up then the teenagers ran away while my friends went to tell my dad about it. My dad came over and helped me up and got me home safe. My mom was mad about it because she always told me not to go outside everyday but my dad is happy about it because he knows that I am not always staying home watching tv al the time or playing on my iPad I am doing something active that my dad loves about me. My dad took me to the hospital and took X-rays on my leg and I had a broken leg, my dad put a cast on my left leg so it can heal for about 3 months so I never went to school for 3 months.

My dad said that I am brave enough to keep playing outside after my leg is healed and the cast is taken off.

One time when I was playing soccer by myself, I tried to shoot and then I rolled over the ball and fell asleep on the ground. I slept for about half an hour until someone came over to me and helped me up. They got me some ice and made sure that I could get back home safely. That made me feel good and also kind of guilty so the next time that I saw that person, I gave them five dollars and thanked them.

The next time that I was at the park I saw some kids that were alone. I asked them if they needed any help, and they said that they didn't know were there parents were. I stayed with them and helped them look. Soon after their parents arrived and thanked me, they also asked me were they were. I went home after that and felt good that I helped some people when they needed it.

My Mom sometimes doesn't get enough sleep. She works a busy job, commutes 2 hours a day at least and takes care of my family. To make a difference I get up early in the morning and set the table, I get my breakfast ready, make my bed and make sure I'm ready to leave for school on time. I also try to leave my Mom's work supplies out (like her computer bag) and I plug her phone in the night before if she forgets. Thank you for listening!!!!

As most of you guys know, my great grandfather was in WWII. This year one of the members from vintage wings of Canada made an articale called "In Search Of Lost Virtues". Six pilots teaching us lessons about death and living. My great grandfather was obviously one of the six. His name was under sacrafice. Sacrifice may not in fact be a virtue, it may be something unavoidable, something you have to do. But putting yourself in a place where the sacrifice required was death is a virtue akin to courage. All of Rosey’s squadron mates were making sacrifices, but Rosey had much more to lose than most of them, probably all of them. Most of the young men on squadrons during the Second World War were young unattached bachelors. Many may have had a sweetheart at home waiting for their return, but Rosey was married and had two young sons, one of whom he had barely even met. There is no doubt that after four years of flying and two of fighting, Arnold Roseland was weary, tired of the deprivation and longing to go home to his wife Audrey and to hold in his arms his new son, Ronald.
Of course, as you might imagine, Arnold did not get that chance. He died in a running gun battle high in the skies over a small French farming village called Saint Martin de Mailloc. His Spitfire was shot down and Roseland fought desperately to get out of it. According to those that watched on the ground, Rosey slid the canopy back and seemed to be steering the dying Spitfire away from a farmhouse. At the last second, he emerged from the cockpit and pulled the ripcord of his parachute while villagers watched in horror. The trailing chute caught in the Spitfire’s tail and Rosey followed his burning aircraft over the heads of the young French onlookers and straight into ground not ten metres from the farmhouse. The forward motion from the descent and crash catapulted the dying pilot over the wreckage in the manner of a trebuchet—a full 100 metres further, where his broken body collided with a thick fencepost snapping it in half. A small photo of Audrey was found in an adjacent field, as well as a brass Zippo lighter with the name “Roseland” engraved on it. So when you think you are sacrificing by eating out at restaurants two nights a week rather than three, or you are putting off getting a next generation iPhone until the one you have is a year old... you are not. You are just consuming at a reduced rate. Rosey is just a short-form for Roseland (or Arnold). this is most of what the article says. It might not be a blog on kind, but sacrafice is more than kind.

With my mom starting her new job and my dad going to and from Toronto everyday for work it has been quite challenging to keep our house tidy or even together. It has been hard to find time to even clean my room or do my laundry, because we have been going back and forth from friends and family who are helping take care of us, I know this sound like nothing but it drives me crazy if my room isn't organized. Anyways after the recent snow fall it has been bugging our whole family that we had not shoveled we just couldn't find a good time. A few days later I surprisingly had 20 more minutes till I had to leave for school, so I volunteered to go shovel the driveway, about 15 minutes later the driveway was clear of snow and I was pretty impressed with my shoveling skills. From this experience I learnt to always be helpful around the house especially with my mom back to work.

The kindness of others!!!!!

I think that kindness and just being nice to friends, family of complete strangers is very important in ending up being the absolute best person you can be in your life time because you don't live forever.
I think that being nice and kind to everybody around you is important because I mean why can't you always be nice to everybody around you and I believe that even if you are having your absolute WORST DAY OF YOUR LIFE!! you cant take your anger out on other people and not be nice to them , well this is an example of something like that about a person who was nice to me and my family and they looked very frustrated.\
This was when I was pretty young I was about 4 or 5 so I don't remember the story by every single little tiny detail but I still remember it. So every year on march break where it is just a time to relax my family and some friends go on a trip to wherever so this time we went to porta vierta Mexico.
On the trip we heard about this huge sale in the city with lots of cool accessories and clothes so we decided to go to the store because it looked really cool because all of the stores were tents and it looked really old fashion and nothing like we have ever seen before.
So at the sale we went to a really cool bracelet store were they sell homemade bracelets made put of cane or something well we realized that we really needed to get back to our hotel because our dinner reservation was really soon but then something bad happened both of my mom and my dad couldn't get onto goggle maps with their phones because they were almost dead and we thought that we wouldn't get back to our hotel in time and we were going to was 200 dollars because we weren't at the reservation on time so we started to panic we must of asked 50 people around the bracelet store "excuse me do you now were our hotel is?" they would ether say "Yo no hablo ingles" (which means I don't speak English I searched it up :) ) or just "no" so we all though it was absolutely hopeless that we were going to get back in time so we sat down by a wall but then something great happened the man who ran the bracelet store who looked like he was having a horrible day and he looked tired and frustrated came over to us and said "I can help you" we all got up fast and said "Thank you so much" and he showed the way to the hotel that we were staying at so to show our appreciation we gave him 20 dollars than he went from grumpy to happy in a blink of an eye and then he gave us free bracelets which was even more nice of him.
Thanks to that guy a guy who was having a bad day and decided to help us out we ended up making the dinner just in time and it ended up being a very good day.

One thing that I learned from that experience is that even if you are having an absolutely horrible day you can always help somebody out.

Yesterday after school,I helped my mom to clear the snow at front yard. because my mom was making dinner, she didn't have time.I did it without my mom asking me to do because I was playing outside and I saw the snow accumulating high.
My mom was surprised that I did it without being asked. She give me a big hug!

Help people can make them HAPPY! It is great!

I feel really bad when my parents have to do EVERYTHING around my house, so sometimes I clean up after myself, and help my parents with stuff. I like helping somebody out from time to time, also I like to do stuff other people want to do with me. Thanks! -Connor

So to start I want to say that my dads side is catholic and they go to church every Sunday...

Lets begin...
My story is when my younger cousin decides to make fun of me because I did not have my 1st holy communion and I was 10 years old, she decides to say ''haha, Amber I am better than you because I have had it and you didn't. So my elder cousin (the one that is not to fond of Yerin) says to me '' Amber you are amazing, kind and YOU CANNOT LET HER GET TO YOU, THAT IS WHAT SHE WANTS". that is my story

This week on the news there was a story of a woman dying from Cancer in Hamilton she is so sick that she can not leave the hospital. She had 1 wish before she was going die and that was to see her horse named Luna from Milton one last time. A organization called Zachary's Paws arranged to bring the horse to the front of the hospital so the woman could see her horse for one last time.I think that this was great that Zachary's paws organized this for that woman before she died.

For this weeks blog post I am going to be talking about a Kindness story that I heard on the news.

I heard this on the news and it started when Tarena Marritt saw her mother doing all sorts of community work and giving back to her community and doing stuff like feeding the homeless and helping the shelter, her mom didn't do anything fancy or anything wild, but she was still making lots and lots of people happy, and then when she went on the internet she kept on seeing the same thing, she kept on seeing random acts of kindness on the internet, nothing huge or wild but still making lots of people happy, so that inspired her to do something good for her community too.

Noah
1/21/2016 04:21:38 pm

Woopsies I accidentally pressed "submit" so here is the rest of the story.

So as I said she wanted to help her community because she got inspired by her mom and people on the internet who were also helping the community.

Tarena Marritt is 24 years old and her birthday is on the 24 so she wanted to do something and that something that she decided to do to help her community is to do 24 random acts or kindness for 24 days leading up to her birthday, nothing big to like on day 10 of her 24 days of random acts of kindness was like her mother did "feeding the homeless", but she went a little bigger than her mother she decided instead of just feed 1 homeless person why cant I feed all of them in my community so she spent a couple days preparing and then she held her dinner for homeless people at Loaves and Fishes dinning hall, her and her team of people who also support her served the food. So she is doing stuff like this for 24 days straight leading up to her birthday, I can be a little more complex or simple like on day 11 she is writing thank you cards to fireman or on day 12 she is delivering baked goods to the local church, no matter how big of a deed or how small the deed, which each of the deeds she does she is making lots and lots of people happy.

Every year I grow out of clothes so I usually put them in a corner of my room, So This year I wanted to make a difference by doing something small, which means a lot to a person So I decided to donate them,
This year on Jan.2nd I made a huge pile of clothes that don't fit me anymore and I wanted to give them to someone who really needed it,
because I have a roof over my head, clothes, furniture when some people don't have anything. When somebody gets to wear those clothes I will be so happy because I did something that made someone really happy.

This story didn't really help someone directly face to face but I know when somebody does get those clothes they will be super happy.

After listening to Leo's story it reminded me of how I helped some Siren Refugee's.

In December, I donated some clothes, shoes and other stuff that people need to the refugee's that came to Canada because of a war in their country. I donated a lot of stuff and I needed to help sort and move all the stuff to the place they needed to go. So one day I went home from school a bit early and went to the lady's house that was running the organization, to move and organize some of the donations. Another thing that I helped out with was making bracelets and cards for them so that they felt welcome to Canada. A TV crew was there and filming everything so it was pretty big event and I was proud to be a part of it.
