Saturday is Remembrance Day and it’s time to think about the freedoms that we enjoy as Canadians. It is also a time to thank those that have given their lives, limbs, and time to serving our country. Watch the video above this week and try to visualize what it must have been like in World War 1 or 2, or what it’s like now, to be in another country, far from your family, fighting for freedom. This week, you have a poetry blog post. Can you write a poem that thanks those who are fighting for us now, or who have fought for our freedom as Canadians. Your poem can be any form that you choose, but remember, you’re writing it to honour and thank those who have fought in wars so that we can be free!

Danke for allowing us to forget about war and for war to leave us be
Merci for fighting for us though you didn't have to

Perfection in the world
Each day filled with happiness
Aggressive wars have stoped
Care is brought throughout the community

Thank you for freedom that made us be free.
Now that we are free we are filled with glee!
Thank you for fighting for us in the war.
Your lives not forgotten and mean even more
Now that decades have passed since last war.
They always remind us of lives you forgo
For peace to prevail and for war no more.

Every remembrance day I fell sad also glad for living in a free country.
Thank you for all the men and women who fought in the war for us.
You will never be forgotten and every remembrance day I will always remember you.
I will always do my part in being a free Canadian for my family me country and me.

I do not know your name,
nor what battle you passed,
I do not know your family,
nor how many tears were cried.
But I know you sacrificed,
and your courage is honoured,
so I thank you with all my heart
my gratefulness has spoken
a word that has been said,

Remember, we thank you who fought in war
Eternity, we hope that for eternity we will be free
Men, we thank the men and women that fought in war
Every, every solder tried their best to fight for our country
Many, many people are very thankful that we are free
Brave, all of the solders were very brave
Extraordinary, the soldiers were extraordinarily courageous
Respect, we respect the sacrifice made by the soldier

thank those who fight for us in war and thank those who gave their lives for us that lets us live in freedom the people that thought of of us to help us not be bold from sae to sea and so we thank those that fought for us that died for are for freedom.

All the soldiers fought for us to have freedom and be alive they fought for us and lots of them died just for us to live happy. Thank you for all the fighting you did for us to have a free country. Life would't be happy if we did not have a safe country. Thank you too all the soldiers who fought in the war.

Went farther than the shore
Fighting for their country
And gave up all their bounty

We shall make sure it is never a bore
When we remember this special day

How young and brave you were
How you sacrificed your life in a war of hate
The winds that blows poppies in a big field reminds me of your thoughtfulness that you had for this country and how much we recived because of your sacrifice
We wear a poppy on November 11th to remember you

The Solders That Cried O - Canada

The solders that cried O - Canada, were as brave as they could be
As they fight to there rights, there is lots of bravery.
On November 11, the support is just beginning,
People start saying there true feelings

You should be proud, they worked hard to get it done
Sure some lives are now lost, but that does't been the spirit is gone.
As you should know, they fought for you,
Believe me, it is all very true.

One way or another, the memories have come back
Just wait and see and you'll know that your on the right track!

Thank you for sacrificing your lives so we could have freedom and live in a safe country. You were so brave to fight and face dangerous weapons. Those who fought in war sacrificed a lot. I will wear one on Remembrance Day to remember the soldiers who fought.

Thank you soldiers that make our country free. Fighting on the battlefield full of debris. Now we can live with glee. We live in a free country because of soldiers fighting. Thank you for fighting for our freedom. Your lives will not be forgotten.
