Remembrance Day

11/4/2022

Friday November 11th, is Remembrance Day and it’s time to think about the freedoms that we enjoy as Canadians as well as a time to thank those that have given their lives, limbs, and time to serving our country. Watch the video above this week and try to visualize what it must have been like in World War 1 or 2, or what it’s like now, to be in another country, far from your family, fighting for freedom.
Your blog post this week is to write a letter that starts “Dear Soldier” and I would like you to take some time to think and thank them for their service. A good letter will connect with things you’re doing in your life that are possible because of the freedoms that the soldiers fought for. Try to make it personal, and powerful.

Dear Soldier thank you for going in this hard risky war for us and Canada. It was very nice doing it for your family too. Without you risking your life for this we would not be safe and the country wouldn’t be safe to thank you so much.

Dear Soldier,

Thank you for all you have done for across Canada. It was hard back then fighting . Only some of the soldiers survived on but November 11 we remember the time that they fought for freedom. My great grandpa was a fighter pilot in the world war 2 and he survived the war.

Dear Solider,

I thank and appreciate what you have done for in back then. I hope you feel the same proudness then when you won the war(s). I thank you for fighting for us to live freely. Without you, I would not be able to do some of the things that I can do now; such as go to the park with friends, go to sleep peacefully, and just chilling on the couch watching TV. I hope that you can live your life more freely now, and I worst comes to worst, fight for us again. I wish you good luck it your life ahead, and that you can forgive and forget some of the things that has happened to you in the past. I hope you can now live your life freely now, like you have done for us in the past. As I stand here now, I appreciate all of the good deeds you have done for us, and I hope you can now live in peace, unlike when you were in the war(s).

I sincerely thank you for saving the home that I now live in and all of the other peoples home as well,
Kenzie .R.

(P.S. Did you know that Mrs.Prestons Dad or Grandfather, was in the war?)

Dear Soldiers,
I wanted to say thank you for risking your lives for our country so that we could have a better and safe life.
It must be very hard to be away from your family and friends and fighting to survive. I know sometimes soldiers get hurt or may lose their lives or maybe your other soldier friends may die in an explosion and that makes me sad for you. On Remembrance Day, we take extra time to think about all the soldiers who came back from war and all of those who are buried in Flanders Field. My family and I wear poppies as a symbol and to recognize the hard work you did for our country. Although Remembrance Day is only on November 11th, I think we should always remember the soldiers who help to keep our country safe and free from war.

I would like to thank all the soldiers who read this letter.
I am thankful to you.

Dear Soldier,

Thank you for all the brave things you have done for our future
and for risking your life so we could have a good day today. I'm sorry you have to leave your family and fight in the war . It must be a very painful experience to watch other people die or yourself getting hurt. Thank you for being brave and fighting for our country and showing how much you care for other people's lives and participating in the world wars

you have done so much for our country and we should wear poppies
to show we will never forget those who died for our future.
