Let’s Look UP!

The video above always strikes me so strongly and makes me feel emotional. It also makes me feel guilty; guilty because I also struggle with looking down and not always being present. For your weekly challenge and blog post this week, I would like you to take at least 3 days where you do not use your tablet or computer (unless for homework) after school. Can you take a few nights off. For myself, I will put my cell phone’s ringer on and leave it on a shelf once I get home. Your goal is to be present with your family. I’m going to give 100% attention to the three girls at home so. Once you’ve had your three days being present, write down a paragraph that explains what it was like without your device. Was it hard? Was it worth it? Did you get a chance to talk about something that you otherwise wouldn’t have? Tell us about your experience. Use descriptive writing to make it feel real.

I was inspired by the person who made this video because that it is true when we walk out we are free to do whatever we want but when were on our devices it traps us to stay on our phones or any other devices. I would also think when we don't get to see our Friends we could go outside to play games. This way we wouldn't have to do stay on the screen we can always give our eyes a break . When were on technology we just press our fingers on the screen and move your hands around. The other thing is this when we get older and have kids we need to keep them away from devices because then they won't end up like the kid you don't want. That is why we have to keep away from the devices and do something else.

If you LOOK UP.You can get more fun,you can go outside, you can play card with you friend, you can take with you friend, you can read a book, you can cook with you mother...You can do more thing fun.I think you should look up!!!!!!!! I think play with friend better than play video game. This is real, you must try this.

It actually was not that different. Probably considering the fact that I'm not usually on electronics in the week, other then doing my homework. I'm not saying i don't go on electronics. But I don't go on it that much. Id rather be outside and play hockey if i'm not at judo. But I do get the point.

My three days without electronic were boring. But then again everyone would. I got involved in getting out side with my family and helping raked leaves and hold the bag open for my day when he wanted to empty the leaves into the leaf bag. I also shot Nerf bullets at the leaf bags and one split open from so much shots on one spot. I got included in cleaning that up, but then again it was my mess. I was talking with my dad that night about what I want for christamas and I was wishing for a dart board. Then my dad said "We already have one, down stairs in the basement". If I had been on electronics I would have never know about that dart board. Then on Wednesday I decorated the house for Christmas with my mom. We decorated the fire place and banister with light and garland. Sure I would have down that anyway but I got more into it than I ever have. Over all my three days without electronic were boring and fun at the same time.

As I walked through my front door I thought of what I would do today. The first thing I did was unpack my lunch bag and water bottle. I put them in the same place I do every day except for weekends. I told my mom I was going to play my saxophone because I haven't practiced for the last 3 days. My mom was fascinated to hear me play, like normal. As I played my Christmas songs my mom sang to them as best she could. We would always laugh when my mom made the words different because it made no sense. Then I go upstairs to do homework. Once I am done my homework I go downstairs and it is normally time to eat. I eat with my whole family and we normally discuses about things in are life. Then it's normally 6 or 7 o'clock which is normally my video game time but I haven't played video games. On Friday night I normally would be playing video games but I watched a movie with my family instead. This was a lot of fun. On Monday after I did some homework, played guitar and had dinner. When I usually played video games I played with my sister. We had a great time. On Tuesday I played hockey with my Dad when I would be on electronics. It was fun to have time with him. I didn't find it hard to not use technology because some nights I don't even play. I think it was worth it because I normally don't watch movies at all. I didn't really get to talk about anything new because we normally talk the whole time we eat dinner.

My three days without electronics were GREAT! I got to read loads more books, play with my bro, and have more family interactions! I was pretty happy, since i usually was busy on m'laptop, and i couldn't finish a book ive wanted to for a long time. Turns out, it was a GREAT book, and im looking forward to reading the rest of the series!

My 3 days were separate but 2 days without electronics I had fun to play with my friends and my dad even took me to a movie and it was only because my dad knew I wasn't going to be on electronics so he took me to a movie called The Attendance and it was a action movie and I liked it and got to eat my favorite snacks there. Then the other 2nd day for no electronics I just played with my friends and played a lot of games and after some games with my dad. 3rd Day I didn't really do much but fail because I didn't do anything during the day so I went on my computer at night.

It was hard to always look up I did my best to do so and I DID IT! The second the last minute had arrived I didn't even care. I didn't care because I didn't want the time to end. When I started this I thought to myself "You cant do it" but I felt like I have opened up to the world and to my friends and family to see that it wasn't impossible. In fact it was kinda nice to put down my electronic for once it really made a change in the way I think right now you need to spend time with the ones you love before you lose it That is what I learned. Spending time with my nanna (that is the British way of spelling it) and grandad (that is the British way of spelling it again) wrap presents for everyone else in the family made me forget I even had electronic's.

My 3 days of no electronics went pretty good. I knew I had to try my best to do this and when I thought I was impossible, I tried it and I did it. It was hard but, I was proud of my self. People don't really think how great it would be to just look up and see all the amazing things that are happening in this world.(including me). Now, I think it is really important to started look up, because soon all those chances that you have to play outside are going to be gone, like now since it is winter(not technology but, I don't care) many people don't go outside as much because it is cold. So, start looking up NOW! Instead of playing on you electronics you can smilpy read a book. When I was doing my 3 days without my electronics, first I was bored but, then I realized that there are so many thing to do with your self and I forgot that I was not even aloud to go on my electronics!

As hard as it may be you need to push yourself, it is EXTREMELY important to learn a lot from this video, the world is changing into this mutation of some sort, a screen will do better than the world around you. Don't get me wrong, I love electronics for everything, but you have a family, you have friends, you have everything around you. I have learned so much through my time with no electronics. It is almost like the boy who cried wolf, people ask you about your day, you give a horrible response, that repeats a few times and no one cares enough to ask you anymore! I understand that things on electronics can start bonding, but what help beyond that. This new world is snowball effecting, we can't make it stop but we can make it slow down.

The person who made the video is totally right. We should not always keep our eyes glued to a screen all the time. So, this week, we all took 3 days off. I don't even play on the electronics that much so it was pretty easy. Yay! But, if I did do it a lot, then I wouldn't have a lot of time to do my history. By that I mean memorize it. And then I would totally fail the test I would have tomorrow. Which I would not want to. The electronics would make you engaged and I would probably not do anything at all! Fresh air is way better for you. You should do the challenge. Don't go on your electronics unless you really have to. Try it for 1 day! If you are always on, you might lose the chance of a lifetime! Remember, look up and see what is really around you!

The three days off electronics wasn't that hard for me, because after school I usually have to do my piano homework, especially these days because I'm having my theory test this Saturday, so I have to study for an hour everyday. Also my parents don't really let me go on electronics except on the weekends. But the video inspired me a lot, if you look up instead of having your eyes on the screen, you would open a new world, a world with things that's not on your screen, so take a step away and shut down your phone!

It felt weird not having my ipod or computer but I think it was worth it. I played more with my real toys and built a few things out of lego like a tank holding ship or a house for my lego people I talked with my parents more and I played with my brothers a lot more. I finished a chapter of bram stolkers Dracula and I played with my nerf guns way more (pretending it was star wars).

Day 1 monday. After school I was really busy because I had to go to my tutor for an hour and a bit. Then my dad dropped me off at my house and asked me to get dressed because I was ready to go to Scouts. It was at our school River Oaks Public School because I was with the Beavers that night. I was volunteering and we had some fun. We all busted tents or they were already broken. Then we all just went to a tent that had been built then. Then my dad picks me up and drop me off at the superstore where help the Scouts sell Christmas trees.if you still need one come to the superstore it was fun.

My 3 days without electronics weren't to hard, but it was different. I think I only used my iPad to set alarms for the morning. I'm not a girl who's on her electronics much, because I love to read. And I got this really cool furry beanbag for my room, and all I wanted to do was lay on it and read. I often had dance class as well, so going without electronics wasn't hard. But on the occasion that I did play games, (Because sometimes I will play for hours) it was kind of hard. I just read my book though, and everything was fine. I didn't do much differently, but I do understand why this was a good idea.

I couldn't do it. To be honest I didn't think I could do it from the beginning. I'm not going to be making up a story or making up an excuse, I simply was not able to go 3 days without electronics. If the challenge was 1 or 2 days I might've been able to do it, but 3 days is a lot for me. There are only 7 days a week!! I think the reason that I couldn't achieve my goal was because it is basically a routine for me, on Monday some of my favorite youtubers upload a video that I would feel weird not to watch. Other things happen too, I like to check my gmail, and other accounts. I know that in the video he said that I shouldn't do the things I do, but for me it is sort of a routine. Next time that there is a challenge like this I hope to achieve that goal.

In my three days of not having the internet. It felt pretty boring the first day but as the hours passed it started to be fun I could play with my brother and actually talk to my parents and peirs. And instead of being on my ipad and computer I found other fun things to do like sit down and read a book, play outside or even inside, go on a bike ride, and listen to music and just grove out I found that being active helped me get trough these three days. I really liked this challenge because it makes put down your electronics and lets you explore the world.

These three days were not really hard for me, because after school I was always writing my homework, but it was still different. At dinner time I spend more times to talk with my family, after dinner I will help my family to clean the bowls and cups. At night I had more times to read my books, and I went to sleep earlier. I found I have more time to do things before. So, look up and don't look down. It is really feeling good.
