It's almost finished! Your final reflections on grade six!

This is it, the very last homework of the year. You’ve made it, you’ve done it, you can be proud. For so many of you, you completed every single blog post and the coolest part about that is you can always go back and look on the website to see what you wrote. Your thoughts, your ideas, your grade six self is immortalized on the website for the year you were in this class. I think that is truly amazing. With those thoughts in mind, think about your year, your growth, your learnings. The last blog post is all yours to write your final thoughts on grade six. Some ideas could be a letter to me, a letter to future grade six students, a paragraph on how you’ve seen yourself grow, ANYTHING! This is your final chance to say your piece, to offer up your ideas as a grade six student. I’m so excited to read them!

sorry this isn't a big letter.
mr.stelman I want you to know that your support through the year was amazing it helped me a lot I know I didn't act like it helped me but it did i have learned soo much from you and I hope I didn't cause too much trouble for you I want to thank you for teaching me and taking your time to help with everything my math science it's been a lovely year with you and class 6-2 they were awesome they helped me when I needed it they were nice great class I hope to get the same class next year I hope you liked this letter.

I can't even believe school is almost over, last time I remember I was just learning how to use Ctrl C. For this blog post I wanted to write a letter to the future Grade 6 students so here it is...

Dear Future grade 6’ students
Grade 6 can be a hard year with EQAO and other new learnings. Division, Multiplication, subtraction and Addition will also grow harder as you face the tricky problems, but I learnt by facing your troubles and weak spots gets you stronger so you can improve more. Allow yourself to get frustrated sometimes because after getting angry with whatever problem you're trying to solve comes the solution. Join new clubs, make new friends and even try out for Junior and senior sports teams because you won’t ever get another chance like that again. BEDMAS is very tricky just like learning division for the first time but try your best even if it’s not near the answer. The only tip I will give to you is to HAVE FUN, you only go through grade 6 once so make it the best year of your life. Good Luck!

It is really sad that grade 6 is over. I had such a fun time with my classmates and my teacher. All the assignments have been super duper fun and also all the projects. For my last ever blog post in grade 6, I would like to write about how fun grade 6 is. So here it goes. When I walked in that door,I was really really nervous.

A lot of people said "hello". They immediately pulled me aside and they started to joke around with me and I was having lot's of fun. Even though there is EQAO, Grade 6 is still super fun. You have September to the end of May to still have fun. Enjoy grade six grade 5s!!!

This is very crazy! I can not believe that this year is done! It is going to be relieving that we won't have to worry about any projects or homework, but leaving the class and Mr. Steltman is sad. I have had an amazing year. I hope you did to.

Grade 6 had some good, bad and ugly moments, but most of the year was extremely fun. The projects were really fun, but the project that stood out the most was the Wonder project. It was really fun and frustrating to do, but in the end, it was AWESOME! And when I first saw Javed, I though, 'Why is a new kid in our class?' But when I asked who he was, he introduced himself, and we've been friends ever since. This year was awesome, and it's very sad for it to end...

...yet again.

Dear Mr. Steltman

This year was the best year ever. I enjoyed all the fun cool stuff that we did in class like Science projects, Math problems and coding. Being in your class was like having the best teacher I had ever had.

You truly are an awesome teacher because you always helped us out on anything we need help with.I will never forget all the fun stuff we did this year.

Wow what a year it has gone by so fast and it has been so much fun.
The projects were very interesting and everybody was so nice to me.

It was great to see all the new faces to river oaks this year.
I really like doing our work on the Chromebook because the next generation will be all technology.
I like how we did coding because it was a new thing to learn for me.
We did so many new things this year and if I said them all we would be here for a while so here is my letter/poem to my future self.

It's soooooo fast that I already passed grade 6. I am happy that I successfully get through all the hard times.
First I have to thanks my teacher Mr.steltmen, he is the second greatest teacher I ever had. Than, I need to thanks all the people who helped me including my teachers, classmates and my friends.
I like that I tried a lots of new things this year, like first time skate with classes, first time learned computer coding and first time play zip line.
I had so much fun with those things and hopefully I will do them again.

This year has been so much fun and I have learned so, so, so many things and I have become friends with so many new people, I remember me walking onto the blacktop on the first day of grade six I remember saying to myself "their is nothing to be afraid about, their is nothing to be afraid about" and yet, I was so nervous walking into the classroom and when I think back on it, it is crazy because I was uncomfortable talking to these people who I have known for most of my life and that I have seen pretty much every day. But when I look back from this I say to myself "why" why was I so uncomfortable talking to these people and to this day I still don't have a single clue why, but I am so comfortable talking to every single person in this class because I have grown so much. For this final blog post I am going to do something different, I am going to write a letter to my future self taking about grade 6, so her is the link to my google doc.

I would like to start by saying WOW! I feel like so happy it is summer break but I like this class and would like to still be in it. And Mr. Mr.Steltman it has been a amazing year with you as my teacher.I feel so happy I was in your class. I made some new friends and sen some old ones. I fell so proud to be in this class and would like to thank everyone for making this year fun. I also want to thank Mr.Steltman for being my favorite teacher. He made so much easier. So thank you 6-2 for making me feel welcomed.

This year has gone by soooooo fast and it has certainly been one of the best years ever for me. This year had been so fun and I kind of don't want it to end. But everything has to come to an end whether it is a sports game of a school year it is eventually going to end. I am really sad that the school year is coming to an end because this has just been a fantastic year for me , and hopefully all the rest of you. This class has just been so great to me and you were very supportive and helpful. This class was collaborative and good people to work with, and this class was also very fun to work with while also getting work done. I just loved this class so much and it has been one of the best in my life. Mr Steltman , you need a lot of credit though because you were a fun educational and just an overall amazing teacher. You had these amazing projects and tasks and you made them as fun and as educational as they could be. You also encouraged growth mindset and told people that they could do it , and they did.

This year has gone by really quickly. I didn't even notice that theirs only one more week of school! This year was so fun and great and it's so hard to believe that it's already almost over. For my last blog post I am going to write a letter to someone new in our school to tell them how it has been in in grade 6, in River Oaks.

Dear someone I don't know,

Grade 6 in river oaks has been a lot of fun and hard work. Our class was really fun and great, and we all had a great year and every one got to know each other even better. The projects where fun and exciting, and we also always had a chrome book cart in our class! I bet you you will have fun and will fit in right away, because every one is nice to every one. I don't know how grade 7 in River Oaks will be but I hope it will be fun. We already learned a lot for grade 7 and i'm sure you did to so don't worry to much,

Thank you so much for such a great school year. I can't wait until next year but I also want to stay in grade 6 with you. You are such an amazing teacher and a great help when people need it. I loved all of our school projects and hope I get some good ones next year. So far you are my favourite teacher and I hope it is like that for other grades. I think you should do some of the same projects because a lot of our projects were fun.

To finish off here is a quote. When you grow older, you will discover you have two hands, one for helping yourself and the other for helping others.
