Got Me Under Pressure!

3/3/2016

Maybe you’ve seen this video already of the man who was skydiving in Australia and he has a seizure.  “A seizure is the physical findings or changes in behavior that occur after an episode of abnormal electrical activity in the brain.”  This man has this happen to him after he jumps out of the plane!  After his seizure, he becomes unconscious and cannot pull his own parachute cord.  The other jumper, the instructor, races down and pulls it for him, and the man regains consciousness before he hits the ground and lands safely.  This video is very scary, exciting, and powerful.  All I could think of is what it would be like to be in the instructor’s position in this.  He was extremely cool under pressure and did what was necessary to save the man’s life.  Think back to times when you feel pressure in your life. It may not be as dramatic as this situation but think about times when you have assignments due, a big game, or some responsibility at home.
How do you deal with the pressure?  Can you write down 3 simple rules that help you or you think would help people deal with situations under pressure?  If you know how to deal with the stresses before they happen, sometimes those situations aren’t as difficult when you have to face them.  Try not to copy anyone else’s rules.

Everyone gets stressed and under pressure sometimes, I have a few ways that I do to calm me down and be less scared of something.

One of the biggest things that puts me under pressure, is presenting, especially infront of a large amount of people, my face gets red, I forget what I have to say, and there is a storm of butterflies in my stomach. Some of the things I do in that situation are to practice, and make sure that everything is stuck in my brain.
I also think about all the hard work I put into my presentation, and how it has all come down to this moment. It reminds me that I have to pay off my hard work and do the best that I can.

Those are only things that I do with presentations, there is so much things in the world that can pressure you so here are some things you can do in any situation....

1.Take deep breaths. No matter what is stressing me out, taking some time to take deep, slow breaths always soothes me.

2.Think happy thoughts. Now this isn't Peter Pan, but when I think of things I like for example, bubbles, hippos, and sprinkles, I always seem to feel better.

3. Sing a song. I don't know why this helps me, but when I sing a happy song sometimes that words have affect on me, and I forget about my fears.

Those are some of the things that I do to relieve stress, and get out of pressure. And you can do them to!

I thought Peter Pan was Evil?

Have you ever had that moment where you have been under pressure and didn't know how to respond? That always happens to me and there are a lot of ways to help you with the pressure and mess up at something! For example...

I once had this test to get into this school and It was a really great school that would only except a few kids. In order to get into this school you had to take a test and I only had 10 minutes to complete it. Before I finish here are 3 steps you can follow to make sure that if you ever get into a situation like this you can stay calm...

1. Step one is probably the most easiest and you can do it whenever. Breathing is one of the methods. When you are under pressure you can always take a deep breath before you do the test or assignment or anything like that. Breathing will help you let all the pressure off of your shoulders and it will help you forget that you were even under pressure. It will keep you calm and you won't crack under pressure.

2. This next idea is what I like to call "THE ZONE"! This step is really easy. You just have to pretend that there is nobody there and just block out all the distractions. This will help you with thinking that all eyes are on you and will make you feel more confident. THE ZONE helps you focus more on your work than make you think that if you fail than your life is ruined.

3.The third way to help you get over being under pressure is listening to music. Listening to music will help you block out all the distractions and will help you focus more on the work. Listening to music is really fun and will help you focus on your main topic and it will block out all the stuff that is making you under pressure.

Now time to finish my story as I was saying I used the technique to use THE ZONE and I passed and got in. You have to remember that there is a solution to everything! Those are the top 3 ways how I get over being under pressure and that may be able to help you to. Here is a quote about being under pressure: "Character is who you are under pressure, not who you are when everything's fine."

Everybody is eventually under pressure, but there are certain levels of pressure.

Level 1. You spilled orange juice and there is a stain and your parents walk upstairs and see it.

2. You are kicking a soccer ball outside and you accidentally break the window of your house. Then your parents come outside and see what you have done.

3. The final level is probably what happened in the skydiving video because that is a matter of life and death.

Here are my 3 steps on staying focused under pressure.

1. First always stay calm and think about what you are doing so you don't mess up at what you are doing . For example don't just jump at the guy that was having a seizure because you might miss him because you were too nervous. Obviously you will be nervous but try to make it not effect what you physically or mentally do.

2. My second reason is don't think about what could happen just do whatever you are going to do because if you think about what could happen you might get even more nervous and you might mess up.

3. Think about other ideas so you are not too nervous about trying to save someones life. You could think about carrots or pigs it doesn't really matter but I think you should just try to keep your mind off trying to save someones life because sometimes being too nervous can effect how you physically or mentally perform.

Those are my 3 steps on how to stay focused while under pressure.

When I am under stress I take these three rules and they sometimes calm me down. The reason why I say sometimes is because it doesn't always work but at least I try and here they are:
1. I take a break from the incident by closing my eyes and I taking deep breaths for a couple of minutes.
2. I think of all the times that I have been happy and have succeeded and that makes me go from nervous to happy.
3. I think about all the things that make me who I am and why I am on this earth. That makes me feel like I matter and as long as I believe this I know I will succeed.

I have had many situations were I needed this, but didn't have it ready. So here are my 3 steps,

1: Stay calm, and think of what good has come out of it. I know that when you guys think back to this you will say that its not smart, but if you think of what good will happen after it, then you will learn from your mistake. Once you have thought of what good has happened, start to stress out.

2: Once you start and try to stress out about it you will learn your lesson. Accept your consequence and don't make any excuses. Think of all of the mistakes that you have made and add them up. Think of one that is about the same size as the one you just made, and kind of think of what your punishment will be. Once you have your punishment ready, forget about it.

3: Go up to your parents and explain what has happened. (Before your siblings make it worse) Tell them that you have made a mistake and that you are sorry. Offer them money and say thank you for giving birth to me. If you don't want to do that then tell them what happened and then change the subject. You never want to not get a punishment because then you won't learn and if you do it again, other people will have other responses.

Think about that, as you try to make a difference today.

Sometimes when i'm under pressure and I have no idea whats going on, I just see my self in the future. That means I see myself all happy, calm and relaxed. at the same time of the situation, stay come breath, take really deep breaths. If you are alright, tell someone to get your feelings out of your mind so you don't get bad or negative thoughts in your head.Another way to stay come is to always remember that you make a difference in this world.(In a good way.)

Always stay HAPPY and CALM!!!!!!

Everyone gets nervous or is under pressure and everybody has ways to relive their stress. Here are my top 3 ways.

1. Practice. If you for example are going to present something in front of many people and are nervous you should always practice. I find if you keep practicing the little flaws your presentation can be perfect.

2. Visualize. I think visualizing how your going to do your presentation/routine is one of the best things to do. When you imagine what you are going to do it makes you feel more calm. Just imagine what your flawless routine would look like. Then when you preform it copy what you imagined.

3. Don't think about it. I understand it's a stressful time, so put your mind to something else. Think of happy thoughts, things that make you happy. Really all you need to think about is anything other then that. Then you feel much better.

I hope that these strategies can help you.

Everyone gets scared or nervous Like When I have a big hockey or lacrosse game like OMAJ's or trip-counrtys I am always under pressure. So here are three things are down here.

1. You need to take a deep breath because when you take a deep breath you get out all of your fears and you can get ready to go.

2. You need to be with your friends because when your with your friend you just have a good time with them you forgot about the other team

3. Before the game get ready for the game because when you do that you thing of kicking the others teams butt and how you are going to play very good and score a hayrick and win the 10-1.

I hope those things can help you do stuff when you under pressure

A lot of people get under pressure a lot, and you should try to stay calm. It may seem hard but I have 3 rules that can help. If you do them when you are under pressure, like at a sports tournament or when you are really worried about something.

1. My first step is to take deep breaths. This is one that I'm sure everyone is doing but it really helps. If you just close your eyes and take long breaths it really focuses you to your breathing. Try to make you breathes as long as you can, but I'm not saying to hold your breathy really long, but to just have a good slow pace of breathing.

2. My second step is to tell your self that it's going to be okay. A lot of the time we are worried and the best thing to do is to just tell yourself that it's going to be okay. If you remind yourself that everything will work out your body just relaxes. It's a big weight on your shoulders that just falls off.

3. Go through whatever your doing. If you have a dance recital practice and go through the dance in your head. If you have a hockey tournament practice before the big day. It really helps if you go through what your presenting. If you have a school project just practice. Practice makes perfect so if you are super nervous just go through it or practice it. This rule helps me a lot.

Try to do those rules when you are nervous or worried. Everyone gets nervous at some point!

Most people get under pressure all the time like when your doing a presentation doing homwork or doing a quiz on a subject that you do really like at all. I'm going to tell you three ways to get over them.

1.Taking notes if there is a big test that you are nervous of doing and your not the best at the subject just write some notes to help you when your doing the test .

2.Breathing it might sound a little wired but it useful befor you do a presentation or pefroming something like an instrument because sometimes you can get nervous and mess up.So breathing befor you do something that your nervous of just breath befor you do it.

3.Just do it.Yea you might be a little bit scared or nervous but just doing it is the best way to over come it and it can help in the future when you have to do it agian.

There are some ways you can over come pressure or being nervous.

I feel under pressure a lot. Here are 3 things that I think people could use when under pressure.
1. Think puppies. It always works except on sadists (Not saying that anyone here are sadists).
2. Take a deep breath. Like #1, it always works.
3. Always keep calm. Although it doesn't always work, the last thig you should do in front of your classmates is have a nervous breakdown, so always keep calm.

That is my top 3 ways to deal with pressure. ;)

I get under pressured a lot and I don't really like it that much. The thing that gets me pressured most is my report cards and marks. Obviously before you get your report card back or your mark, you have no idea what it could be. These are some of the ways you could stay calm.

1. Close your eyes and believe. Yes that sounds weird and awkward but it does help. When you close your eyes you mainly see colours. When you well I see colours I think of something that makes me happy and think about whats going on. It does really help!
2. I just like to think of something that cheers you up. I like to think about something that entertains me, like, OUAT, Glee, Bublé( My fish that was named by Yerin.) and my family. Those give me happy thoughts and fills me with warmness.
3. Dance. That is very weird but when I am alone and pressured I actually put on music and just forget everything and dance. I the worst dancer in the world but I still enjoy it because I just like it. ( But I do it when I am alone.)

Those are some of the ways that I like to do when I am handling pressure!

Pressure is a strange feeling, sometimes you get under pressure when you don't need to be if that makes sense. If I were to but myself in the skydivers instructors shoes I would feel tons of pressure because you have somebody's life at risk. your actions it can effect in a positive or negative way. aI feel pressure when people are counting on me to do my very best even if they aren't your head makes it seem that way. The 3 steps that I think can help you preformed your best under pressure are...

1. If you are feeling very pressured don't think about what you can't do think about what you can do

2. Stay calm! If you go into the slightest panic you just preform worst so taking deep breaths can help you focus and preformed your very bests

3. Think about the possibly best that can come out of whatever you are feeling pressured in, this can motivate you to be the best version of you under pressure.

When I feel stressed, a lot of the time I freak out and panic, I just don't know what to do so here are 3 things that I do when I feel stressed or paniced

1. Sleeping!, Sleeping is one of my favorite things to do because I don't get enough and because it helps me refresh my thought so after my short little nap (that turns into 3 hours) I have a fresh mind and it motivates me too stay calm while I am under pressure

2. Eat!, Eating is one of my favourite things to do other than sleeping because one of the reasons I get under pressure is because I have not had that much to eat, infact because of that I blame it on the things I am doing, Ex: When I am doing art and I am under pressure I will say " EW I AM SUCH A BAD PAINTER" just because I am really hungry, If you eat it will help your mind get distracted and you will focus on one thing.

3. Do Something else. Doing something else will help your brain and mind get focused on something else but make sure your not just sitting somewhere because then you will think about it, try going outside and run or play something, that will help you and when you come back and do the thing that gave you pressure it will be much easier.

I hope these 3 things will help you get through when you are under pressure.

Everyone feels under pressure at some point, if its a big game or a real problem. Here are 3 of my types on how to stay calm while a problem is happening...

Breath and Relax

You will feel a lot better after you breath and/or relax. for example if you are nervous for a big game then relax and take the time to think about why you are nervous. But if you have to act fast then take a few deep breaths and then act.

Stay Calm

This is a very important one because if you don't stay calm then you may end up in a big mess. If you stay calm you can do what you have to do calm and very smooth and easy.

Meditate

This can really help you before a big game. It will make you become very relaxed. You will feel 100% better and will know what you have to do.

Those are my 3 tips on how you can stay calm before a big game or a big problem!

I am a defence man in hockey and a bunch of the times I have been under pressure is when I am playing a hockey game and it is a two or three on one with me being the one. Because it is almost all up to me. I have the goalie but he won't be much if they get by me. But thats why I am under pressure! These ideas aren't things you would do in a hockey game.
1. Go to your room and just lay down and relax for a bit in your bed. Maybe you could watch/play on your device.
2. Listen to music. It would be better to listen to calm music than ACDC. Just so you can calm down and focus on your work.
3. Do a stop breath think to relax your muscles after being frustrated and having tention in your body.
Done.

When I am stressed out... get it... no, well it is a song, anyways I like to relax, by sleeping, or having sometime alone, to gather your thoughts. I also like to eat some chips, chocolate, or any junk food to eat away my problem...( it only makes you fat!!) The last thing you can do is to look up pics of your baes!
hope that helped, TTYL

Everyone gets stressed out sometimes and that is totally fine but sometimes you got to find a way to control it before the situation your in gets even worse. Here are 3 things I like to do when I feel under pressure!!

1. Have a good attitude: Sometimes when I'm in a situation,I realize that maybe I could change my attitude instead of being just mad I could give it a chance and try and see another way I could figure out the problem!

2. Take a moment and relax: I know a lot of people said this but it is a very good technique it just makes your mind take off all your stress away and be able to make your brain recharge!

3. Mange your time: Sometimes the problem can all be because you just didn't manage your time.Sometimes things have to go before others so you don't have to do it last minute! What I basically mean when I say manage your time is before you go on to Netflix do some of your homework first instead of you doing it last minute because you watched the whole first season of fuller house! (Which btw is amazing but anyways)

Here is a quote I saw and I really liked it so I thought I would share it!
"Stress is not what happens to us. It is our response to what happen. and response is something we can choose"

Being under pressure happens to everyone, it happens to me too. I feel under pressure when I can't finish my work in time and there is new work coming out; I am not able to finish it.
I have 3 ways to help myself:
1. I usually list the things that I need to finish from the most to the least urgent. Then working on it one by one.

2. Listen to music. Music can help you to relax .

3. Trust myself that I can beat the problems. Have confidence.

Everyone gets under pressure and their is no way to stop the felling but there is ways for people to make themselves more calm and to help make them self less nervous and more calm. There are different levels of pressure from lets say you are at a hockey game and you are the goalie and the other team gets a breakaway you will probably fell pressured and you will probably be nervous. But in the video it is a way bigger scale of pressure because in the video the persons life depended it and that is way more pressure than a hockey game. Know not all of us might come to a situation where we need to save someones life but we all fell pressure and mostly everyone has a way to deal with pressure whether it is in a hockey game or saving somebody's life. Here are some ways I deal with pressure.

1. My first way for me to deal with pressure is to take a nice big breath in through my nose and out through my mouth. Here is an example , okay so as some of you might know I am TERRIFIED OF ELEVATORS!!!! well I am going to therapy about this and the therapist helped give me strategy's to help deal with the nerves and the pressure. Well one of the strategy's the therapist gave me is to breathe in through my nose and out through my mouth. This helps me because it makes me focus on only my breath and it really calms me down. When I am focusing on my breath if I am on a elevator and I do that breathing I might be worried 9 out of 10 or 8 out of 10 instead of a 10 out of 10. I know it might not make that much of a change for me but it works fr a lot of people ad it is better than a 10 out of 10.

2. The second thing I do to help deal with pressure and nervousness is to listen to music. Now I don't mean rock music that gets you really pumped up and that is really hard rock. Well sometimes I do that before a baseball game or a hockey game but lets say before a plane ride. I don't know why but before plane rides I get really nervous and really scared. So when I get in the plane and take my seat the first thing I do is take out my ipad or ipod and play some nice calm music. This help's me because listening to the music that flows very nicely makes me very calm and it helps me go to sleep because when I am a plane I always try to sleep. I do this for a lot of stuff not only just plane and it helps a lot for me. It might put my worries from a 8 out of 10 to a 5 out of ten and it is really easy.

3. The third thing that helps me deal with pressure or nerves is to do something else to help get my mind of the thing that I am pressured on or am nervous about. So lets say I had a big baseball game and it was the finals and I really wanted to win. I might do something else than just laying on my bed thinking about what is happening maybe that will be playing volleyball or basketball or even just sleeping. I find that it really helps me and I think it helps me because it helps me take my mind of what is happening or what is going to happen with something different and it helps me stay calm and I don't get as nervous

Everybody gets nervous and you mostly can't get rid of all those nerves in your body but you can help it by doing something so easy whether is it listening to music or even sleeping it can help deal with the pressure. Pressure kind of helps me because it gives me adrenaline and gets me more pumped up and I don't really like the felling of it and I don't think anybody does but it isn't that bad.

Everyone gets under pressure wither it is for a sport and competition or anything in that huge category, and when you are under pressure you get nervous most of the time and you need to learn how to deal with those nerves so you will still do your best and do everything your greatest even when you are under pressure. For this weeks blog post we are sup post to say three things that helps us when we are under pressure so we can help others who are in the same situation as us, and here are my three things that helps me do great when I am under pressure.

Before I start I just want to say these are the three things that I do to help me when I am under pressure and these are the things that work for ME, so if the don't work for you (I hope they do work for you) just try another one and maybe that one will work it is all about trail and error so if one does not work just try another so lets get started on what help me when I am under pressure.

1. The first thing that helps me when I am under pressure is meditating and thinking about nothing just focusing breathing in and out, in and out. Before a game or a presentation if I have extra time I will just focus on my breathing and sit down this helps me for 2 reasons, 1. It helps me focus on be more concentrated and 2. It gets my mind of things and that helps because I am not thinking about the big game or the presentation I am just relaxing, I also know that we do this in class for example a stop, breathe, think where we just sit down and focus on our breathing.

2. The second thing that is also a "go to" for me to be calm when I am under pressure is I hum a song in my head what I mean by this is when I am nervous I hum a song in my head and it will keep me distracted, it may stay in your head for eternity but in the long run it is worth it. I do this and it helps because it keeps me distracted and it lets me do my thing without a single weight on my back and that is a very good thing that many people struggle with, but NOW your struggles are over and you can go back to normal.

3. The last but not least that helps me when I am under pressure is I think of something funny or sad, this has a very similar purpose as the second on and what its purpose is is it keeps me distracted and it can change my emotion like if I think of something funny I will be happy, enthusiastic and energetic and is I think of something sad I will make me determined, convinced and motivated and that gets rid of my butterflies.

All of these things help and will make your nervousness go away I hope this helps you and maybe you can try some of them out, but hey! those are just my ways what are yours?

1.Take a deep breath

2.then I make or already have a balloon toy (balloon filled with sand and I made the name) or ANY TOY!

3.then I play with it so I get my mind off it.

4. then deal with!

I"m not sure if I did this right?
