Creating Characters!

We have been doing a lot of writing this year and our abilities are definitely increasing. One vital element to storytelling is developing characters; how do you create a character who people are interested in, who people want to know? That’s going to be our challenge this week, building and developing characters!
Create your own character that you will use in a story one day. For this character, they must have:

a name (first, middle, last)
a few favourite things
3 personality traits (e.g. funny, humble, disturbed, etc. )
a flaw (something that can create conflict)

After you've jotted down the different things that make them who they are, I want you to write a paragraph that showcases how they would react in a difficult situation. What would your character do if they got called on in class and they weren’t ready, or what if they faced peer pressure to steal? Pick any tough situation and write out how that would go for your character. Let’s meet your people!

Hi my name is bee boo bed head the frog I live in down town mars with my mom dad sister a brother. but they think I have psychological problems. Like they think having two leg is normal. and you have to not poop on elephant trunk like what???? and lastly they think professor umbridge is nice like seriesly ( aka a monster who killed you and them self then come back to life to just kill you again) (aka from the fifth harry potter movie ) oh! thats right I have two best friends baby Grogoo and bob. ( his really weird he has two wait for it.... LEGS!!! don't you think thats CrAzY!! ) I remember this one time that use three were at the elephant petting zoo and we saw a car fly and evrey body was le WHATTTT. But then we saw my bestie mickey mouse and turns out it was actually voldemort. And he tried to kill me so but I was like pew pew pew. So I went to go find yoga and we saved the universe. from explotting.

Hi my name is Burnout Fast they call me that because I am so fast instead of leaving smoke I leave fire. I am fast, smart and dangerous. A thing that would make me mad is if someone tried to beat me in a race. I then would burn out on them until they were ashes. The thing I would do was drift until he was covered in fire and then leave him to crumble.

Today is the race that Buck Shawn Blaze has been waiting for. It is the Colorado Snow Mountain slalom ski race where he would have to face his best friend. It would be really bad if he lost because he was very competitive and hates to loose. Buck Blaze was about to face his friend John, and was making jokes about how he would easily win the race. Buck was also very hyper. He started the race too fast and missed a gate, so was disqualified. This meant he unfortunately lost and John won. He was very angry and went home instead of waiting for John to get his award . When Buck got home he started making his own skiing video game. It was a very fun video game. Nobody wanted to play the game with him because he is a sore looser.

Jacquelyn had woken up that morning and stumbled out of bed, she had woken up angry and annoying at everyone and everything, she had an important test for school and she had realized that she woke up late! She rushed to eat breakfast and brush her teeth and she was on her way, she was extremely clumsy and fallen on her way into school, when she got into class they were already 10 minutes into class and the teacher had given her a dirty look because this wasn't the first time Jacquelyn was late to class, so the teacher ordered her to take a seat and start, only one problem... Jacquelyn had forgotten everything that she studied that night and was afraid that she would fail luckily enough she didn't and came home with an A+ !!!

Hello, I am Gertrude. I am a snowman that used to be big and tall, I even had an 18 pack, but the evil Lorelai and Addie knocked the top half of me onto the ground, and then they sat on the bottom part that still existed. I am very offended and somehow still alive on the ground, so yea I am alive, I am here, I am still existing, I think. I am very strong and I worked out every day until LORELAI AND ADDIE punched me over, and now I can't work out and I am very sad about it. I will stop talking about the evil children and I will get to my amazing self. I love say dad jokes and I HATE children, even though they created me, they topple me over after. How would you children like to have the top half of your body toppled over and still be alive and just be stuck, on the cold, wet ground. How you like to be a chunk of snow and only exist in the winter, and be MELTED TO THE GROUND every. single. spring. ANYWAYS BACK TO TELLING YOU ABOUT ME. I love to sing with the mouth that I don't have, well I have a mouth but it is a stick, but anyways, I like dancing with the stiff body I have, I hate frosty the snow man, he is just too perfect for me. I hate every other snowman in the world, I don't like them, most of them are just trying to top my amazingness. Like, they are all trying to be taller then me, and they may be taller, but I actually look normal! They all have tiny heads or no head at all, like, why? Well this is becoming very long so I am going to stop typing with my stubby arms now, this was very difficult to write with my arms, it's getting warmer so I don't think I can go for much longe-

Gertrude's head was then melted, so I will just end this for them. Basically Gertrude didn't like humans nor snowmen, so Gertrude had no friends and never got any. Gertrude had a very big attitude and was a bit of a snob. Rest in pieces Gertrude, Rest in pieces, I will make you once it gets cold again.

Hello, my name is Teomanius Zoophilous, the Greek Olympian god of all animal life! I am the son of Artemis, the goddess of hunt. I can speak to all animal kinds.I am funny, kind of nice and sometimes nervous, especially when I have to talk to bees or wasps. Anyways, I lost one of my pets, Cerberus and I don't like when my animals go missing so I immediately start involving other gods and creatures. I asked Cyclopes if he could help. He said that Cerberus might run into a portal that sends all kinds of life to the underworld so he probably now travels to the under world. He suggested that if I choose to follow, I might run into Medusa on my way there and if I do, I have to quickly look a way. If not, and if I keep looking into her eyes, I will turn into a stone.
So I did what he asked. On my way down, I did see her and had to dodge her stare by hiding behind my shield. As she looked at the shield, she saw her own reflection and instead of me, she turned into stone. All right Medusa, sorry for that. After a wile and on my way deeper to the underworld I finally saw Hades as he was playing with Cerberus. Hades seemed so happy that I actually felt that he should keep the Cerberus. Boy, was Hades happy after I told him that he could keep the three headed pet. He granted me safe passage on my way back and asked me to come again whenever I wished.

Hello! My name is Honey, Honey Tree Bear, I know, awkward name but if your wondering I am a grizzly bear and I live in the woods in Canada. I love the summer and I much enjoy honey! I have a mother named Fuzzy, Fuzzy Honey Bear, yeah I have her middle name as my name because, well I don’t know but yeah. My father passed away three years ago in the honey wars:( AnYwAyS, I am 10 years old, and my best friend named Tod (he’s slow-) is always with me hanging out by the beach and eating sand (he’s weird). I do a sport, just because I’m a bear does not mean I can’t do athletic cool stuff like those hUmaNs- uGh. My “sport” is dOg waLkinG, ITS NOT WHAT YOU THINK I PROMISE! it’s where I walk through the woods like a dog. Okay sure your sports are cool and all, but on the inside I know your jEllY. Hi its your boy Tod Bob Turtle! I am the best turtle on the this plane! No need to brag but I do recall winning 20 marathons. My friend Honey likes to tease me that's I'm slow but just because the contestants and I took 7 hours to run the marathons does NOT make me and them slow. Well ya back to being the best turtle on the planet! I love eating sand (yes Honey its DELISH!) Anyway....I am 10 years old and my family and I live in Canada in the rifer near the woods. I see my best friend Honey every day! I live with my obnoxious sister,mom and dad. Sometimes creatures in the woods call my friend and I stupid and weird but HEY just because we like to eat sand and walk like dogs does not make us stupid. But anyway I am pretty funny like, hey I was walking and I saw a bird! Ha ha ha ha!t Anyway..Honey and I love pranking other people and we usually never get caught but you know sometimes it happens... It usually ends with Honey caring me on his back. I also love skateboarding and can do so many tricks like I stay on it for a total of 3 seconds before I fall!Like DUDE that's a world record. Hello, I am Fred Abraham Timothy. I am the greatest SUMO wrestler of ALL TIME! I have never lost except for that time I fought a two month old baby, which is kinda weird. Some of my favourite things are: sumo wrestling, sumo wrestling on trampolines, sumo wrestling on bouncy castles, sumo wrestling against random animals, sumo wrestling manikins that look like sumo wrestlers, and a bunch of other sumo wrestling related things. Some words that I would describe myself are, fat because I'm a sumo wrestler and F.A.T. is my initials, compassionate about mostly sumo wrestling and some other things, and happy about my good, successful life of sumo wrestling. My one flaw is sumo wrestling babies I don't know why but I'm not very good at it.

My name is Mr. Smellie Wellie and I live in Smellyland which is a warm place just outside of the North Pole. In Smellyland we LOVE to smell smelly things. Some of my favourite things to do are smell smelly socks, play a game called Smell Ball and drink Root Beer. One thing I have going for me is that I have a strong sense of smell. Also, I am a fan of Smelly Man who is a famous Small Ball player that plays for the Smelly Rodents. Even though I am great at things I do have one flaw that annoys me. My neighbour, Perfume Madie, is always in love with her perfume and other good smells. I will never forget this one time when I was having a party with my Smellyland friends and we were enjoying a stinky time in the backyard watching the Smelly Rodents on T.V.. Then a few hours later, Perfume Madie came home with all of her perfume friends and went into her backyard. They were being loud and spraying all of their perfumes and it overpowered all of our stinky smells. All of my friends got so angry with me and left the party before the game ended. Perfume Madie ruined my party and I will never forgive her!

This is the story of Samantha James Evans.I am 13 year old girl Who has a passion for hockey But my parents said hockey is not for girls And my parents wanted me to do ballet.But I never liked that. i am in grade 7 and all girls bullied me because i wanted to play hockey So then i asked to move in with my uncle Wayne and then shortly after i found out he was Wayne Gretzky and I never met him before so I didn't think he was him but she knew he played hockey then when I got there she was freaking out because I just met Wayne Gretzky the one of the best player ever.My parents didn't actually Know that he was really famous for hockey so they didn't know why I wanted to go there so then they thought I wanted to meet for relatives .Right when my parents left they said you're only here for 2 months So don't be too happy.Shortly later he introduced me to the family.And then I begged Wayne To put me into a hockey team.Then he said first u Have you have to learn how to skate and all this other stuff But right when i put my skates on i was Incredible it was like she rizen from the sky then Flu I felt so alivei was so good wayne was so happy and Surprised Then he said actually you don't need any practicing he said in 1 week i am making a team and keep practicing to make this team. One week later I made the team and I was almost better than all the boys.And now almost 16 years later I made it to the Olympics team and I was the captain of the team.I left my parents and ran away to Wayne.Because they never wanted to see me playing hockey then when i started to make money they ran right to me and i didn't like that so i stayed with Wayne.

My one big flaw is that I keep falling because my head is big.

But one day when I was walking to the arena this thug came right up to me and said give me $500, and right at that moment I realized that I had forgot my WALLET AT HOME and then I told him that I forgot my wallet at home. I was scared, mostly because I was about to die wearing a blue duck costume but he said meet me in the alley beside CHUCK-E-CHEESE at 6:00 or else I will come looking for you and something will happen when you aren’t ready. So then I ran home as fast as I could, so that I would be able to get my wallet and call the cops to meet a thug at 6:00 on the alley beside CHUCK-E-CHEESE. When I got there the cops were there at about 6:01, and I showed up with my wallet. The Police arrested the Thug, and I kept my money.

Hi my name is Froggy but most of you know me by my human name Charlie.OH you don't well let me tell you why my name is froggy.It was night and I was about go to bed when i saw something out my window.I did not know what it was so i just thought it the trees but the the window started opening and i saw a woman but she was no ordinary women she had skin as gray as a rock. eyles a red a blood and hair as black as night but I also noticed that instead of ears she had goat horns.Then she said something but i couldn't hear what she was saying.Then she pointed her finger at me and something shot out of her finger.The colors swirled around me the they suddenly stopped and they disappeared. then I looked down at myself and saw that I was GREEN. the women started laughing at me then she disappeared. Ok might be bored.So now one year has passed and i live in a cave it is now my home.One day I was reading one of my favorite books.OH and did you know that I LOVE books I have a whole book shelf with books and also I love lily pad tea.Have you ever tried it probably not but it is so good.Ok well I am done my story so see ya soon:)
