Completing Character Stories!

For your blog post this week, your task will be to write a final chapter of your character’s story. What happens after their conflict with their classmate and how is it resolved? How does your character’s first week of grade 5 end? This is not to be a 90 page chapter! Please keep it sharp, well written, and of an appropriate length that we can read everyone’s stories :)
As a reminder, in class we learned about conclusions and the different types that we read in stories. Here are the various kinds of conclusions that we covered in class for you to consider for your story:

A reflection
Funny
Warm & fuzzy
Cliffhanger

Have fun writing this and remember to turn boring words into fancy words! Be creative! I can’t wait to read your endings.

I sit down in the art club room where Ms. Fox stands at her table. Her long black hair flows down to her waist and she wears her usual attire: a black blouse and white skirt. She's tall and even though she's my favorite teacher because she's so kind even though she looks imposing. She gave us all a new sketch book at the beginning, when the club started. Mine is filled with drawings of people I know and people I've just made up, animals, vehicles and plants. The gold label on it has my name on it. I run my fingers over it. It's shiny and smooth. Lidia comes into the room and plops down in the chair next to my right and on my left a boy named Callum sits down. Today, Ms. Fox has brought in a special treat. She brought in many flowers, a bright yellow tulip, an orangey-yellow marigold and the real prize. In a small white bowl floats a pink lotus with purple edges atop a dark green leaf.
I flip through my pages until I get to a blank one. I start sketching out the lotus adding as much detail as possible. I begin to colour and I see Lidia peeking over at my page.
"Yours looks amazing!" She says, jealous. I look over at her flower. She had drawn the tulip. The drawing is done but something looks a little off. "I know somethings off, I just can't tell what it is," she tells me.
"I know," I say, "can I?" I hold up my pencil and she nods. I erase a few lines and replace them with a few squiggles until it looks just right.
Lidia looks down at it. "Thanks!" She says. I turn to Callum. He's drawn the marigold.
"Yours is so pretty!" I say.
"Thanks," Callum says.
The bell rings, to say for all the after school clubs to leave. I'm going home with Lidia today because we're having a sleepover. She grabs my hand and pulls me outside to where her car is parked. Instead of her mom in the driver seat there was a boy instead. I recognized his smug little face: it was Jeffy. Cue the dramatic music. Duh-duh-duh!
"Where's my mom?" Lidia asks.
"Uh, she was busy," Jeffy says.
Lidia gets into the front seat and I get into the back. Jeff and some guy (who I soon know is named Sukhoi Superjet 100 or something like that) and we start driving. I immediately can tell we're breaking the speed limit by at least 200 miles. I scream and so does Lidia and airbags pop out. We can't stay in our lane and start drifting around. Suddenly I hear 3 more screams and then everything went black. This is the second time Jeffy has caused me to pass out but this time, I'm not sure if I'll wake up anytime soon. I know exactly what had just happened...we had crashed.

I wake up under white sheets and my head on top of a fluffy pillow. My parents are beside my bed and everyone sighs with relief that I've woken. My words come to me immediately.
"Where are the others?"
The nurse beside my bed sighs, "you, Jeff and Sukhoi have survived but the other two are...didn't make it."
"Wh-

"What the heck are you writing?" I hear Lidia ask me. I snap out of my trance.
"Oh, a story for Literacy," I say and scribble some more words down onto my page.

And that's why the back seat is the safest seat for children.

"Come let's go to lunch!" Lidia says.
"All right," I run after her out the door. Of course, for us, the cafeteria isn't where we spend our lunches. We sit side by side on the comfy sofa in the corner of the library and read page after page of our favorite books with a bottle of peach juice each by our sides and two packets of lays open and eaten halfway.
This is paradise.
Fifth grade is the time to stop being shy because who knows, maybe one day, you'll meet a boy who has a plane in the parking lot of our school or a girl who is just like you. But even if you don't, you know this isn't the end.

Ohh and that girl across the street could be my slave!! Perfect!! Oh look Del's at the door? Dels at my door!! ah I gotta change I got to fix my hair what am I going to say!! Ok Im all dressed, all fixed up Im ready to open that door. Creek, “ Hey Del” “ umm hi you forgot your coat at school yesterday so the Teacher asked if I could bring it to you” slam! I don't know what to do should I say thanks, should I ask him out, should leave? Hey its me jade again how are you doing?
Well I'm doing great and I need to tell you somethings that you have missed since I have been gone.

First of all I got MARRIED!! yes yes I'm a husband and I had another kid named Tommy. Tommy is now 5 and now Lisa is 12 years old yes you missed 10 years of my life and I'm 33 years old:]

Anyways I bet you think I have more pets well guess what I didn't get anymore! Wait never mind I did I got a hedgehog for one of Lisa's Birthdays and she named it Sonic.

Ok Ok Ok so let's get into some bigger things that have happened to me in ten years.

Oh I forgot something I got in a car accident! I was driving normally by myself to work and BAM a speeding car hit me. I had to go to the hospital because I'm head smacked the steering wheel so yeah that also happened.

ANYWAYS the big things that happened were i went on a vacation with my kids and Amanda who is my wife if you don't know who she is and we went to the Bahamas and it was beautiful there. We had a massive hotel with a pretty good room and there was pools outside of it too. Lisa and Tommy loved it and they both always forgot to put on there sunblock so they got a little burnt.

34 years later…

Sadly this is Tommy writing… Jade my dad has sadly passed away at the age 67 and as I watched him die in the hospital he told me to finish his story he was writing. So I did.

Jade died because he has a heart attack and we brought him to the hospital that moment as my mom Amanda cried and soon they saw he had been diagnosed with CANCER!!! And he only had 1 day left to survive the next day he passed away early in the morning.

It's the last day of school today and I don't really have to say anything more.

Today when I got to school I met up with Del and we put our stuff in our lockers and then we went to our first class, History, with Mr. Steinbottom. Now I'm not trying to be mean to him, but I think he's not the most active teacher.

When Del and I got to the class he said "ok everyone, we are going to be doing a big project" and I was thinking "oh good golly, this is going to be bad" but then he said something that made it way better, "You are going to be paired up with someone" and then worse "which I will choose" well, that wasn't very friendly of him.

I apparently got paired with this guy named Hompoob and he was pretty nice... I think, he didn't talk so I didn't know what he was thinking at all. Our topic was Abraham Lincoln, and I didn't know a thing about him, so I looked him up and found this

When we got started we started by looking him up and writing about him and then we finished that and all we had to do is present it to the class some way, but right at that moment he said "this will be your only day to work on this by the way" and ate some jellybeans.

So we put the stuff on a poster and then I hear a faint bep, bep, bep(by the way I meant to put bep and not beep) BEP, BEP, BEP, and then there's an explosion and then I die.

So right now I am very angry. Liam and Sukhoi Superjet 100 didn’t play with me this break! I told them, can we please play tag, but they wanted to play something else.
I plead, “Please….” But they did not listen. After arguing for about 9999999999999999999999 Graham’s number of eternities, Liam and Sukhoi Superjet 100 decided not to play with me at all. So-o-o-o-o… Ya. Currently I am spying on them to see what they are doing. Hmm… very interesting. HOW ON EARTH ARE THEY PLAYING TAG!!!!? I THOUGHT THEY SAID THAT THEY WON’T PLAY TAG!!!!! UGHHHHHH!!!! Oh, I forget to mention that this is the last day of the first week of school. AND IT’S NOT GOING WELL!!! Wait, NOW THEY’RE MAKING FUN OF ME. Oh no, they won’t.
“Hey, WHY ARE YOU PLAYING TAG AND MAKING FUN OF MEEEEEEEE!!!??”
“Oh, sorry, boi.”
I said, “WHY!?”
“Because you’re getting very annoying and boring to play with. And we just wanted to play together,” replied Liam.

“The game just didn’t feel right without you. You made it more challenging and exciting”
“Thanks guys!” I said.

hey it's sparkle bum here again, and iv'e been wondering how you've been? good! well iv'e been not so great i'm constantly getting this shivery feeling that creeps up my spine and in sends a home sick feeling through my body and i i i i don't like it so......... (sip of water) i'm planing.......... to RUN AWAY FROM HERE!......... It's 2:30 on Wednesday, school ends at 3:00 and you wouldn't believe what just happened my new friend James just told on me for doing nothing the thing is he lied to the teacher and sed i was the one who hit him but he hit me i was esprit for school to end but I just can't stop staring at mamas because how mean he was to me. once school was over I cam running like a cheata smashing through the door as my eyes bursting in to tears as they slowly rolled dawn my face almost like it was my heart bleating after a jun shot.

the next day I saw James as I waked in the school doors then James waked up to me and apologize but I shouted with rage no its to late NO! maybe you thought of that of that later but the I remembered it came to me I was the real liner I was the one who hit James wait i shouted before James good walk away I am sorry from the on I learned not to lie.

It’s the first Friday ever at school and I’m pretty excited. My teacher apparently has a surprise for us. The day starts out normal the morning announcements play. blah blah blah “Have a French Fry Friday” It’s just the first week and they’re already running out of ideas. “So this week there is a big event going on at the school” Mr.Angelo starts. A girl raises her hand “Talent Show?” She asks “Exactly!!!
I told the school that I had some really good talent in this class so be good! I’ve always wanted to be apart of a talent show so I’m just happy but the rest of my class looks terrified. “A-a talent show?” A boy asks in fear. “Yeah,why?” I say The boy never responds so I carry on with my day and sign up for the talent show. I skateboard so I think I could show off some tricks. I wonder why the list has barley any people signed up. Lily actually signed up I think she’s going to do a dance .💃 When it comes to lunchtime I hear some whispers coming from my table group. “What’s going on?” I ask them “ We heard that a ghost Stage Sam haunts the talent show stage.” They tell me. I don’t think ghosts are real so I’m not worried at all. I go get my skateboard and are practicing my tricks backstage. Lily goes on and does awesome on her dance, I’m not worried at all. So when I go I fall off my board many times and I feel a mini earthquake happening below me. I go check under the stage, and there it was.......Stage Sam. Just kidding ghosts aren’t real.

hi i am Megan its Friday this is how my Friday ends week 1 finally comes to a end .it might seem a little silly but no this is the truth I swear.now listen carefully.

coming back from the bathroom well that's what the teacher thinks but really i was saving the town from a robber running loose.when i came back to class attendance started and my name was called "Megan"the teacher said

Yo what up wassup it’s yo boi Sukhoi. On with the story.
Okay so one day Jeffy decided to call me. Ring ring ring, my phone went. When I picked up the phone Jeffy said, “Okay so my plane may have just crashed and there’s an animation of it at this link, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sx4U9tMdhf8.” I then said, “Cool.” He replied, “Sukhoi, do you work for the KGB.” I obviously said no. He then told about random unimportant stuff like how he needs my help and that without it he’s gonna die. He then said that I could play a bunch of video games if I did so yeah. He said that the bulldozer was coming. I said that we should take a look at it in my V.I.P. Dc-8. He agreed so I met up with him right where this link takes you https://bit.ly/2KGAigK. When I got there he was already waiting. Once we got on Jeffy said, “Wow everything here is gold” I replied, “ Everything here is gold including the pajamas.” I ignited the engines and put the throttle to max. I reached rotation speed when I realized something… I FORGOT MY CHICKEN PARMESAN HER oh wait no nevermind. When we got close to the bulldozer I ejected out and landed on top of the bulldozer. The first thing that came out of my mouth was, “Jeffy?!” I was hallucinating. When I looked up the people that were actually there was Lilli, Jessica, Liam, Callum, Taumatawhakatangihangakoauauotamateaturipukakapikimaungahoronukupokaiwhenuakitanatahu, and Del sitting there, "Oh u, okay um so, um uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh I'm out." I didn't know Tony kept one of those so... now people are staring at me because I'm looking at a tiger that for some reason is eating Tony. The timer just went off and I haden't even finished my report and then Mr.Steinbottom is staring at me for not getting my report finished. Then the bell went and I have no idea what is happening...

But then I paused everything around me, to think to myself, why do I prove to other people that I can do something when I already know I can do it. But the only reason that I was doing all that silly jerk stuff, was because I let my mom and dad get to me, only because they were fighting. So then I decided that I needed a job. Hold on a minute let me go back to when I actually met Olivia…..
So we were at a party at a girl named Ashley's house. (She is one of Olivia’s friends from show jumping) Anyway, Olivia was being pushed around by these jerk boys, so I kind of, may have, sort of... punched him? Look I know it sounds bad but, it just came out! Ok maybe we should just not talk about that.

Anyway….(oh and sorry about all the anyways, it just kind of comes out!) mm just like my punchsmm

Ok, so Olivia had gotten really mad at me and never spoke to me ever again. (WelI guess she did because she would of had to of said yes to marry me so never mind! Ok, ok I am getting distracted! So after that, I got a job from a man named Jack. But it just so happened that Jack, was Olivia’s grandpa! And Olivia lived at Brightfield Stables with her grandpa! So then I started working there and we kind of started talking to each other. Then eventually we started dating, then long after that, I had already proposed to her. It was the most beautiful moment that I was ever in! Oh and by the way, It was a beautiful wedding! She came down the aisle on Pheanix side saddle! It was awesome! Then we had a baby girl and it just all fell into place!

But we are facetiming with Juliet’s old grade 5 classmates!
Oh right! Ok hi! I am so sorry but we are going away to the Bahamas with Jade’s family! I hope that I can facetime with you guys soon!

All I can think about is whats going to happen next? I've never talked about my mom, she's too personal. But I need to talk to someone. 5 months ago my mom was diagnosed with cancer. And you think I would be all sad and depressed but I act like nothings going on. You know I'm just that crazy annoying girl. The person who's never sad, actually the last person to think that would ever be sad. But I'm very sad, more than sad. But I will not let it get to me. I just don't want to see my mom suffer. But most of all I'm asking why her? What did I do for her to diserve this? I'm stroking the tied ends of the crazy patterned bandana on her head and holding her hand. She's slowly drifting and can't even talk. I bring lots of my math she calls me her little Braniack. And even though I'm in 7th grade I no longer think that nicknames are for "babies", Because to my mom I her little baby. My mom has to appetite and not long to live. My dads almost close to being fired because he is in the hospital. And at this stage he has no money to pay for the house and barely meals. But he would never say a peep to my mom. Ahhhhh good morning world. Wait is today Friday oh yes I love Fridays because I have science today yes. RING the bell rings for lunch. Well I was at lunch I saw Megan she was sitting at a table by her self poor girl always so lonely I kind of feel bad for her but i have my own group to hang out with so to bad so sad Megan. RING the bell rings for third period at the begging of third period I ask the teacher if I can go to the washroom but little does he know that ma not going to the washroom I am going to meet up with the secret spy team. I run out the door and catch a bus to the crime scene there i meet the FBI and the Police some robber stole a lot of money from a bank. As I throw the bad man in the car I see Megan she was starring at me I think she was jealous because I got to the crime scene first well that's to bad. After everyone is gone Megan comes up to me and says ''hey how did you get here before me'' and I said '' Well you know skills'' I start to think maybe I am a better crime stopper then Megan is. Hey guys!! It's me Callum again! So you know how in my last story...
Lidia blew up something in Mrs. Wang's face.........
Yeah you know how she was a foreign exchange student from New York......

SO that happened.
So it's my first Friday in Berkshire Private school and it hasn't been as bad as I thought. I made two friends!!! One that is know in New York (Lidia) and Lilly. School is almost done and I'm so anxious for it to be the weekend. I watch the clock ticking down and count in my head
"Ten, Nine, Eight, Seven, Six, Five, Four, Three, Two, ONE!!"
I thought it would never come, the WEEKEND!!
RING RING RING!!! Went the bell. I run out of class trying not to get crushed by the stampeding kids watching people getting picked off by the older kids. I get my back pack and rush out of the school. Weirdly my Dad isn't there in his car waiting for me. I wait 10 minutes but he still doesn't show up. I try not to think about it too much and just walk home instead. Luckily my home is not that far. I've been walking for about 5 minutes humming to my favorite song and I walk up to my sisters high school, Rydell High and weirdly enough my sister is sitting on the front bench of the school.
"HEY ALICE" I call over.
"Callum, you're walking, were's Dad?" She replied sounding worried.
"I'm not sure, let's just walk, who cares!"
"K fine" she said annoyed.
We walked for ten more minutes and then........
We see fire trucks in front of our house........
There's a big whole in our roof......
Our house, is in flames........
My sister freezes and I instantly start crying and run into her arms.
I see my Mum standing outside of the house crying and coughing up smoke. There's also an ambulance amongst all of the fire trucks. It's sirens are on and it starts backing out and drives away in a scurry. At this point the house is bursting in flames. I run up to my Mum who is muttering to the firefighter I can just make out what she is saying and stop to listen.
"THE KIDS... THEY'RE IN THERE, YOU HAVE TO FIND THEM" I can tell that she is super worried so I run up to her to assure her that we're okay.
"CALLUM WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN!!!!!" She shouted in anger and love.
"We've been walking home from school because Dad didn't show up, uh oh, WHERE'S IS DAD!"
The fire fighter started speaking before my Mum could answer.
"Your Dad will be fine, but right now he's in hospital, unconscious... we don't know if he'll live...... I'm sorry.......

Hi so.... today was a fun day i'll say. I was texting jeffy if he wanted to come over today and shoot some stuff and rage a lot. But when i was doing that i remembered that we had to memorize the periodic table.
Now way before in like jk or sk was when there were only 5 or 6 elements of the periodic table but you still had to memorize them, not me cause i was in jk or sk. But then this nerd came along and said actually there a bugilion of them you guys HAVE TO MEMORIZE ALL OF THEM!!!! And so everyone is mad at that dude/nerd. It is the last day of grade 5. Remember the first day how I loved school until Mr.Johnson left to go to another school and now we have Ms.Angry she is so mean she expelled someone for going outside 1 minute late. So now its 10:55 and the bell rang for recess so then everybody went outside. Then when Billy was outside He was talking with his friend Bob and he was talking about Ms.Angry and how she is such a bad teacher. Then he started to mock her and said stuff like I am crazy. Then the bell rang and everybody went inside to the classroom and Ms. Angry said "Billy come with me now". Then Billy went with Ms.Angry to the principal office. Then the principal said "watch this now". Then Billy watched it and remembered that where they were at break there was security cameras right above them. So then Billy said "Oops". Then Billy got expelled and left that school that day. Then Billy went home and his mom said "what happened"? Then Billy said"I got expelled". Then his mom yelled "get out of this house now and his mom threw all his stuff out the door and said "bye bye Billy". Then Billy got locked out of his house. Then Billy went to live on the streets and then 5 years later he had a great idea and then he became a billionaire. Lastly he went back to see if his mom still was at the old house and ding dong went the doorbell.

Hey guys, so today this story isn’t going to be that long of a story because I think that I already know what is going story. I also know what's happening in the story 1. I’m the writer and 2. I just had a dream sort of like the last story I told.

It was a hot Friday day it was around 45oC all the kids in the class were getting bored because of how hot they were. The only reason why I didn’t mind because it is my birthday. It was the last day of school and even better there was only five minutes left in the day 4,3,2,1 and just as I left I was dreaming so I had to go back to class Mr.Shuttlebutt yelled at me for so long her sounded like a girl. The whole time I was dreaming I was having a test. I drew pictures of cakes because it was his birthday so he got a F++++++ he didn’t care that day 1. My birthday and 2. It was too hot to think. So school actually ended and I had my pool that evening with my best friend Jeffy, Nate, Nick and Cole. We had a massive house and pool but I didn’t invite Reid so he shouldn’t know about it as soon as I said that he walked in everyone hid but me I opened the gate I said hi and slammed the door on him he tried to come in the front door but my python was waiting for him at that very moment BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM GOBBLE he got eaten. 55 minutes later we went inside to eat cake Reid came over to say happy birthday and gave him cake with peanut butter Nick took a bait and blew up and I never saw Nick or Reid ever ever again.

Hi, it's me again, Alex! When I got to school I met up with my best friend Del and then he said that there were basketball tryouts. I was totally gonna try out for! I walked to the gym and opened the door and then I had to write my name on a sheet. After that, I did a quick scan around the room to see who was trying out. After doing that, I had a feeling I was not gonna make it because everyone trying out played on a rep team! Huh! The coach said to get a basket ball and shoot at a basket, so I did. I went over to the basket, one shoot up miss, 2nd shoot up miss, 3rd shoot and went in!!!!!! WooHoo!!! I was partying in my head. The coach said to hustle back in so I did then he said to do lay ups and that's what we did for some of the time.

Today is the big day because I am going to look at who made the team! I walked up to the bulletin board at the gym and I read some names:
Jared Jones
Ben Brown
Cameron Campbell
George Gan
and
Henry Hunt
Then I saw Del's name was on the list and then I saw my name under Spencer Snaps. I was so happy I made the team with Del!!! There was definitely another party in my head! I'm liking grade 5 - it rocks!!!!
