This week in class we’ve been looking at different commercials and why they’re effective, what they’re selling and how they’re using their commercials to sell a product. Watch the Dove- True Beauty Sketches Ad. While you’re watching it, think about other commercials or ads that you’ve seen that promote positivity, that empower a group, that send out a positive message. For your blog post this week, I’d like you to find a commercial or print ad that promotes something positive and post the link below. Once you’ve posted your link, answer the following three questions:

1. The main message of this video is to show you what others think of you and what you think of yourself. I know that the message is that reason because they have said it many times in the video.
2. They would be selling some type of dove, maybe dove soap. I know that because it is at the end of the video.
3. This could maybe have audience of adults over 40 or a bit under And could be some audience for older people as well.

I think this commercial is telling you that you see yourself as all of the imperfections, but if you have a friend, they don't really see you as an imperfection, but they see all of your perfections. I know this because in the video, they took people, and made them talk to somebody that they didn't know, and then when the people described themselves, the pictures turned out to be really ugly, and not end up looking like the person at all. But, when the other person that they talked to, described all of the good things that they saw in the person, and it ended up looking exactly like the person.
The product that is being sold in this commercial is Dove soap. I know this because when the video is playing, there is the little Dove soap symbol in the top left corner. I also know this because at the end, it shows that same little dove icon.
I think that the audience is targeting all people who can't see there inner and outer beauty. I think this because it shows the people showing not liking themselves, for some little imperfection, and if you can't see that you are beautiful, you need to watch this ad.

I think wat the main message of this video was to let others know that when they say maybe they look nice or not they just think like that but, there more butifull than wat they say or think of themselves. In the video it man sketches other people but when the humans look at the drawing it thinks of itself how does she or he looks like,and they just need to say that they are already good who they are.It is not how you look it is who you are i think that is the message of this video. The commercial is telling you that you already look more beutifull then thinking of how you look. The main message of this video is that when the people look at the paper they think that they look more nice.when you just look at the paper of the drawing he did other people think your not beutifull but you acually are. :D

I think that the message in this commercial is that when you see yourself you say all of your imperfections like freckles and wrinkles. But when people see you they see you as if your a beautiful person and have a nice smile. I think the main message is that look at yourself as a good not ugly or bad person and think that you are a gorgeus person. What I think they are selling is dove because they showed it at the end of the video. I think this video is targeting everyone that dosen't think that they look nice.

For question one:

I believe the message of this commercial is that a lot of women don’t think they look beautiful. In general with women, kids, pre teens, and teens don’t think they look good. Certain books for women mention and talk about how a lot of women over think and don’t think of themselves as beautiful. This video is trying to show that other people see you for beautiful in your own way, and you see yourself as imperfect, and not realizing one perfect thing about yourself. I know this for a fact, because there taking this topic and using a method to show how so many women don’t think they look beautiful! When women described themselves, the drawing drawn by a police sketch artist following their description didn’t turn out so great. When strangers described them, it turned out exactly like them, slightly happier in each and every second drawing and more beautiful, exactly how they truly are in reality. This means in this video they did an experiment to prove women don’t think they look beautiful, but in the eyes of other people they do. I know for a fact a lot of woman think they don’t look beautiful, and this ad is trying to promote that situation while advertising a product. I believe the message of this ad is to show you are more beautiful than you think, and how I know this is because of the experiment that happened in this commercial.

For question two:

I believe the product being sold in the commercial is Dove. I know it’s Dove because at the end of the commercial, it says “You are more beautiful than you think. Watch the whole experience at Dove.com/realbeautysketches. Dove,” and then the Dove logo. This video is talking about beauty, and how you’re more beautiful than you think. So when I searched up “what does dove sell” on Google, I saw Dove’s beauty products like hair care, skin products and stuff like that. In this ad Dove is trying to say “You’re beautiful because of this video, now buy our hair care and skin care products because they’re good for your beautiful hair and skin”. Which I think is smart, also considering Dove is popular! So they are helping people realize they are beautiful, convincing people that they need Dove’s skin care and hair care products so people can take care of their hair, and show that true beauty Dove just told them they had, “them” would be the viewers watching this ad. So personally I also think Dove did a good job promoting there products, giving people a good reason to buy it: by convincing people there beautiful, helping people realize we need to take care of are skin and hair with these Dove products. I know the product Dove is being sold in this commercial, and how I know is because it says “Dove” at the end with its golden bird logo.

For question three:

I would argue the audience Dove is targeting is women, specifically adults, teens, and maybe kids? I don’t know for sure if Dove is only for adults, but I know Dove is targeting women. As I mentioned, lots of women over think about themselves and think they aren’t beautiful. Dove knows that knowledge, that most of women feel bad about themselves. This gives Dove the perfect opportunity to spread the message that they have beauty products like hair care and skin care for woman who think they are ugly. Dove mainly knows that women will want to use makeup and use hair care lotions and items to look better about themselves, or if they want to look even better than before. This is great for Dove, because they know millions of woman around the world will want to use skin care lotions to have clear skin, or hair care to have nice hair. That’s also mainly why a lot of beauty stores get popular, because people all around the world want to use makeup and skin care products to look better. So I think Dove is targeting women of most ages because they know a lot of woman don’t feel good about themselves and need what Dove or other beauty stores are selling to look better! The audience Dove is targeting is pre teens, teens, adults and possibly kids and I how I know this is because women that age feel very insecure, especially adults and teens.

I think the message of this video is that you are perfect just the way you are. Like some people think they are not perfect or pretty but that is not how others see them. How you see yourself, others will see the opposite side which is the beauty side.

I think this commercial is selling the products from dove because at the end they have a little message after it says find the whole experience at dove.com.

I think this commercial is targeting teen girls or older women because in the commercial they use teens and adults for this experiment.

question #1: I think that the meassage in the comercial is for people to love themselvs and for them not to be so hard on themselves and because you have barely met someone odes not mean that they will be mean actrully I think the exact opposite.

question #2 I think it dove soap, spray or deoderant because think that those are some of the things that dove make and that i know it is dove because one it said it is from dove and that there is a thing on the add witch says dove.com which goes to doves home thing

question #3: I think that this comercial is going to young adults or a old teen for any gender or anything in that age range because it is saying to be confident and to love themselvs and for some people in this age range they lack in that stuff and it is trying to make people more happy and love themselvs.

1: I think the message of this commercial is to use defeat or failure to your advantage to grow and get better. I know this because the athletes in the commercial all reference one of their own failures and they all went on to be very successful.

2. Gatorade is the product being sold. I know this because a number of the athletes in the video are drinking Gatorade.

3. This commercial is targeting everyone who has ever failed in their life, which is every person who is old enough (babies not included). I think this because the message of using failure to get better is key for everyone not just athletes.

Question 1: This ad is saying a lot of women will think there not pretty there not good enough just for the most smallest thing ever but if they have a friend that just hangs out with or maybe they think there not beautiful some times women over think about themselves and they list all the bad things about there facial structure, eyebrows there, chin, etc.
so this video is trying to tell women there beautiful the way they are

I think what they are selling in this video is some sort of beauty product from the company Dove I know it is dove because well Frist of all the video title is dove real beauty sketches and there profile picture is there logo like most other companies so I am guessing they are trying to target people to buy their beauty products such as skin care products perfume that stuff so they are trying to tell people well your beautiful and we say that so you should trust us and buy this and dove is very popular so people are going to believe them

This ad is targeting a lot of women how I know is because they sketch pictures of women and they sell a lot of products for them . I also feel that they are speaking to women because lots of them think they are not pretty like I said before for the smallest reasons . 1. The message of this commercial is to be who you are and to be comfortable with who you are.
2. In this commercial they are selling Dove products but their main focus is a message of positivity when it comes to your own body image and confidence.
3. I think the audience is many people. The artist was sketching women but it could apply to all genders and all ages.

The commercial I chose was Lesson of Self Worth L'Oréal Paris.

1. The message of this commercial is like she says " Being authentically you is all that matters." I know this is the message because she says it in the commercial, she says it in different ways up until that quote, and she takes off her makeup while saying all of those things.

2. The products that are being sold in this commercial are makeup and makeup removal products. I know because it's a L'Oréal commercial and L'Oréal sells both of the above.

3. Your first guess might be women because L'Oréal products are mostly used by women. However the message in this commercial is more important than the products that are being used. So this commercial is targeting everyone. I think It's targeted everyone because first, it could targeted women and maybe teens to buy the products but also the woman in this commercial with face full of makeup starts saying things like "your worth it" or "being authentically you" while taking off her makeup to show her true beauty. Second, it could be targeted to men because SOME men like to wear makeup but it's also showing lots of men that women being theirselves is much more important then looking beautiful for some guy. Third, it could be targeted to young children with the commercial in a way telling them that makeup is not important and you don't need to wear it.

2. dove is the product they are selling because it says at the ending dove and I used to use it it is a brand of shower gel and a brand of shower products
3.I think they are targeting teenagers and adults because usually they care what they look like more than kids
