A Letter to the Future!

This week there is a huge UN Climate Summit called COP26 in Glasgow Scotland. World leaders are talking about what they can do to make the future a better one for the planet; your planet. It’s not just world leaders who will make a difference though, they have awards there for students who have done great things to help our planet. You have the power! I think this video from Kid President has some amazing messages for us in his video “A Letter For the Future”. As you watched this, I hope you were thinking about what you can do, to help out to make the future a better place. He’s right, we do hear a lot of negative things from the news but as young people, the future is in your hands!
For your blog post this week, write a letter to yourself in five years, when you get to high school. What do you hope to have done to help yourself, help the planet, and help your community?

Dear furture me..

I'm hoping that I have learned to be a more positive influence on any one I choose to surround myself with. I would would like to be more involved in helping to keep the planet clean by recyling and helping to clean up litter in my city.I hope to become more helpful to older people in my community.

Dear future me...
I will help myself by limiting screen time to 30 minutes each evening. This will help me because my brain is not being trashed.
I will help the planet by making sure I don't pollute the waters and make sure to use reusable water bottles.
I will help my community by being in plays to entertain people.

Dear Future Me,

I hope I can help the world by picking up garbage off the floor when people litter. I will be doing this for a long time and I don't know when I will stop, but I won't stop.

Dear future Emmett,

I am writing to you as a grade 4 student. Right now, I love my nintendo switch, lacrosse, soccer and golf. I hope that I have practised things that are hard and not given up. I hope that I have helped the planet by planting trees so we have oxygen and always learning about how I can help. Dear future me...
I am 9 years old right now and in grade 4, I will challenge myself to try things that are new and a little bit hard and not give up on myself. I will also help the envoroment by picking up garbage and not littering. I can't wait to meet my future self in 5 years!

I will try and help myself do better by not speaking out as much. I will try and remember to wait my turn to speak. To help the planet, I can help clean up litter from the parks and forests. To help my community, I can donate to food banks.

Dear Future Me,
To help myself I am going to continue to work hard on improving my reading. I am also going to keep working on learning to code as it is the way of the future.To help the community I am going to continue to use reusable water bottles and recycle. To help the planet I am going to focus on cleaning up trash, walking to and from school, using my bike and scooter instead of using a car and using less electricity. I hope the future is bright.

1) Throw out garbage if it's on the floor

2)Turn off light if I am not using it

3) Plant more trees

4) Do not smoke

5) Do using too much plastic bags

Dear future me
One thing I will do is pick up garbage to keep my park clean. I plan to continue raising money for charities. I want to challenge myself by reading harder books.
