Mr. Steltman - Redirecting ...

Your Final Homework: A Letter To Future Students

6/22/2018

Congratulations!  You’ve done it, you’re at your last homework of grade five and for this, you only have ONE task!  Enjoy, make it your best and we’ll read them on the last day of school :)

Make it fun to read! For homework this week please write a letter to MY (Mr. Steltman) future students; write to students who will be in my class next year a letter on “How to be successful in Mr. Steltman’s Class”.
You are encouraged to be funny, honest, and share whatever you would think someone do their best if they’re stuck with my and all my quirks.
These will be shared with my students on the first day of school in September.

That’s it, that’s your homework for the last week.

As for me, I want to thank you all for being such an interesting class, so full of life, excitement and energy about everything we learned.  You were always willing to try something new, attempt projects, and put full effort into everything that we tried this year. It was such a great year, with our class really pulling together and being kind to each other.  For me, you all really seemed like a family; willing to help eachother out, defend each other but also with lots of the small fights and apologies that we see in a family.
It was such a great year, so much laughter, shouting, and most of all, learning.  You’re all incredible and unique individuals, and I want you to remember to be kind, be true to yourself, and to make good choices.
Thanks so much for this year!
Mr. Steltman

If you really want to know how to be successful in Mr. Steltman's class then here are a few things that you shouldn't do because they really annoy him.

1. NEVER EVER draw on his whiteboard(s) unless he tells you to because he is a very neat and organized teacher and he hates it when people draw pictures of smiley faces and horses on his lovely, clean whiteboard(s)

2. Throwing around milk cartons
Throwing around milk cartons really make him mad because it makes his classroom dirty and milk covered.

3. Just don't do anything he tells you not to and you will pass the Mr. Steltman test or sometimes called passing the grade.

If you follow these things then you will be a very good student in Mr. Steltman's class.

Dear fifth graders, you are so lucky that you’re going to spend this year with Mr. Steltman. Here are things that you should do to be successful in Mr. Steltman’s class!

1. Be very VERY respectful to everyone in the class and him. If you are respectful then you have a higher chance of doing something fun. If you are not respectful, you’ll be filling out boring work sheets.
2. NEVER EVER draw on his whiteboards. And that means no drawing animals, faces, planes, cars, trains etc. He always wants them to be perfectly white. SO DON’T DRAW ON THEM!!
3. Always try your best. Even if you feel like you can’t do it anymore just carry on and persevere. TRY YOUR BEST!
4. Have fun. We always worked on super awesome fun projects that no other classes got to do. Most of the projects and assignments that we did required use of technology such as computers and IPad. It was so entertaining!
5. Don’t throw milk cartons all over the class. He gets mad when his class gets very dirty. Then we have to clean it all up >_<. You would spend your time on the cool activities instead of spending your time on cleaning the classroom.

Those are some things that you should do to have the best school year ever!

Hi guys. Here are five rules to survive In Mr. Steltmans

1. Don’t draw on the whiteboards, he likes them clean
2. Don’ be a brat. Mr. Steltman is an amazing teacher and he deserves better than a group of annoying, bratty kids.

4. Try hard. He’ll help you out, but you need to try first.

5. This is the most important one. BE YOURSELF. Mr. Steltman is a kind accepting man. If you have any weird quirks, don’t try to hide it. Trust me. My class is the weirdest, craziest, strangest one I’ve ever had and Mr. Steltman will accept it. He has some quirks too. And it makes the year so much better.

Trust me. You guys have an amazing teacher. Feel lucky.

These are the top rules to survive Mr.Steltman's Class:

1. RESPECT! Mr.Steltman is a kind-hearted man. He works so hard everyday to make boring, fun. If you want this year to be successful and awesome please respect everyone in the class.

2. Keep the classroom CLEAN! If you want everything to be enjoyable, make the classroom neat. The little details like clean floors, tidy desks and erased whiteboards make the environment so much better.

3. Don't touch and see things your not supposed to. Some people look at marks and peek at notes and it is not good. I don't think you'd want your privacy invaded so do the same for Mr.Steltman.

4. Positive Attitude. Trust me you will have an amazing year at Mr.Steltman's class. Never doubt his ideas because they ARE GREAT! We have accomplished so much this year, you'll never know what's coming. Be happy in class you will learn that this year even if you think school is boring and bad, after the experience in his Grade 5 class your perspective will change about things.

5. And finally BE YOU. This class has so much diversity and Mr.Steltman's Class is the most different. (In a Good Way) I shouldn't be spoiling anything but...*whispers* You get your own field trip. And it is so good to have all kinds of different people you meet.

I hope you guys agree with me in all of these and FOLLOW THE RULES! I know that you will have the best year of your life. Good Luck!

Hey Kids of Mr. Steltmans Class next year. This is a future letter to tell you about what your going to be doing, about Mr. Steltman and about Gompers. Oh and Gompers was an abandoned goat that Mr.Steltmans last class rescued and now he is going to be passed on to you. Take very good care of him.

Anyways here's somethings about The One The Only MR.STELTMAN!
OK
Rule number 1.
DO NOT WRITE ON HIS BORD he gets really mad if you do.

Rule number 2. He does not like Hugs so no matter what if you ask him he will say NO! Witch is really mean Mr. Steltman!

Rule Number 3. Don't give up or Mr. Steltman will get mad and make you work more harder so try your hardest and then he will be nice:)

Ok now lets tell you somethings that he does or you should do so first he will b handing out HARD math so be ready and try your hardest again. Second He will let you do really fun things like
Eat food when you want well sometimes, Sit where you want, Pick where you sit or who you sit beside, Watch videos from the projector, and lots more.

Well I hope you have a good year with Mr. Steltman:)

Hello classmates of the future, I hope that you read carefully because I don't know if you know, but if you make Mr.Steltman's heart sad, then that is not a great start to the year. So without furtheuradoo, lets get on with these rules...

Rule #1: Mr.Steltman is very picky with his white board, in other words he does not like people writing on his white board. And like I said up there, you will make his heart sad! And even if you are doing the morning math or he asked you to write something on the white board, you either write neat, or go sit down!

Rule #2: TRY YOUR HARDEST! Mr.Steltman loves when you are positive to yourself. Oh and you guys are going to be doing some hard math and a lot of fun projects! So..BE POSSITIVE! And if he can't help you with what ever you are doing, then ask a friend or someone that you know that they will help you, and if they don't, then they are just being rood! So just be AWESOME!

Rule #3: Even though Mr.Steltman does not like hugs, but he should, because when you give someone a hug you are thanking them for so much things. So Mr.Steltman, this goes out to you...
BE RESPECTFUL AND GIVE YOUR CHILDREN A HUG FOR ONCE. For instance, Mika!
She tries so hard...Lol!
Anyway,
I am Juliet and I hope that you have a great new year with my favourite teacher, Mr.Steltman!
I hope I see you guys in the future! You will grow up to be wonderful children!

Juliet and Sunny are out!

P.S: Gompers is amazing! He is really sneaky though so be ware! Oh and btw Sunny is my favourite and the best horse ever!

Do not ever and I mean it, draw on his whiteboard(s)

Rule #2:

Rule #4
Don't make Mr.Steltman's heart sad and you'll probably have a pretty good year. How do you not make Mr.Steltman's sad you ask. It's simple, just do what he says and don't be disruptive.

How to be successful in Mr.Steltmans class 101!

Chapter 1:
There are three main rules on how to be successful in Mr.Steltmans class.
Rule 1: Never (unless you are asked to) draw or even touch the whiteboard. He is obssessed with keeping the whiteboard squeaky clean. (This rule was one we didn't really follow.)
Rule 2:
Be respectful to everyone in the class and yourself. Mr.Steltman is all about respect. He even made us do a blog post about respect.
Rule 3:
Be very good during a fire drill. He wants everybody to be quiet and standing in a line so no one get's lost.

Just follow these simple rules and you will have an amazing year with Mr.Steltman.

Actually, one more thing. If you are the class clown like David, be prepared, because Mr.Steltman doesn't like it when people are silly and off task and don't learn.

Hi Mr.Steltman's future class here are some things that you should not do if you are in Mr.Steltmans class.

1. DO NOT talk in baby voice because he will get very frustrated and mad so just don't do it.
2.You must pay attention because if you do not pay attention then you will not learn and Mr.Steltman will be teaching for nothing.
3. DO NOT write on his white board because he likes it when his white board is clean and has no marks on it so do not write on it
4. I have learned from Mikas mistakes that he does not like hugs so you can only give him hand shakes.
5. Remember that mistakes are powerful so if you mess up do not get made because mistakes are powerful!

Love,
Emma or banana queen or BT#2 or slime queen!
Bye for now I will miss you guys see you next year

Ok hello, this is the last time I'll even do a blog in Grade 5:(. Anyways Mr.Steltman is still a young young lad and he likes his rules and needs his rules, so these are some handy dandy survival tips to make sure you don't die in Mr.Steltman’s class...ok!
#1. TIDY CLASSROOM!
Mr.Steltman really enjoys being neat... on his google drive. But the classroom in general you need to keep clean. But it really doesn't matter how hard we try to keep this room clean it still looks like a pig stye. But remember to NEVER EVER write on his whiteboard... without permission. He will go insane, well that's too nice, he might kill you... I'm joking, because that's still to nice. But just keep it in mind you might be tempted to write on a shiny soft white board, speaking from experience.

#2 RESPECTING AND POSITIVITY
Respect is one you HAVE to keep in mind.
The three R's :
Respect Mr.Stetman,
Respect you,
respect others. That's all I need to say.
Positivity is one of the biggest things you will need to know.
Boy can I say how many growth mindset blog posts we have done.
It's crazy! Stay positive no matter what is going on. Because bad attitude bad life it's as simple as it gets STAY POSITIVE.

Ok loot as bad as it seems, it’s worse! I’m joking… well kind of, imma get to the point. Mr.Steltman is more than fun we get to do so many activities and there’s extra perks;)

Coding
Extant time on chromebooks
Usually the first to come up with ideas
No tests
No worksheets (you know I think my handwriting has gone down)
I don't know if Mr.Steltman is still going to allow this but you’re aloud piles of stuff on your desk :)

Who knows if there will be his future students, but if there are *whispers* you are in bad luck, I meant good luck. But watch out he is still a young young lad
