Practice, Practice, aaaaaand MORE Practice

Picture
Life, it’s all about practice.  As we’ve talked about this week, it isn’t about the final product, it’s all about the process and the method of getting there.  This week,  pick one thing that you’re going to practice, that you’re going to get better at.  Remember, it’s perfect practice that makes perfect … you don’t want to practice something with a mistake in it! For your homework, write down in a descriptive paragraph what you worked on, how you practiced, and what results you noticed.  Try to practice something different than you normally do!
Bonus: Who is the man in this picture?  Why would he be in this picture?

This week I wanted to practice clarinet for the christmas concert.I practiced this by signing out my clarinet and practicing for a long time until I was confident that I was able to play the song. I asked my parents to come watch me so I could practice having an audience. Although it might not have been the same, because I feel more comfortable with them. Practicing made me better than I was before,I will continue by taking extra time to practice every couple days before the christmas concert.
Practicing makes me a better player, and it can make you better at anything, because practice makes perfect!

Bonus:The man in the picture is Bruce Lee. He was one of the greatest martial artists in history! I think he was in this picture because he practiced so many times to be the best, you can't do anything better without practicing. He once said
"I fear not the man who has practiced 10,000 kicks once, but I fear the man who has practiced one kick 10,000 times."
He is saying practicing many times,is better than practicing many things once, because you learn more.

Our whole class is going to preform In the winter concert which is really soon so that means I have to practice with my flute. One of the songs we are playing is jingle bells and to practice that song I play the flute while the song is going on so I can make sure I'm not going to fast or if I'm playing the wrong tune. Another song That I have to practice is dreydl dreydl. I have to practice that one a lot because every person that plays Your same instrument has a solo with you., So basically all the flute(Chloe and Nicole) have a solo in that song so I have to make sure I practice So I don't mess up. To practice this song I like to get my family and play it in front of them and then I ask them to rate me on how well I did! After I practiced I noticed that I got much better at playing the song.

Bonus: The man in the picture is Bruce Lee! Bruce Lee is a guy who died in 1973. He was a martial artist, actor and filmmaker. I think he was on that picture because He wants people to always try there best just like he did whenever he did something. I know this because 1 of his quote tell you that he wants you to be brave and always to try your best!
Quote:I fear not the man who has practiced 10,000 kicks once, but I fear the man who has practiced one kick 10,000 times.

This week I plan to practice on my music. The winter concert at school is coming up and also I have other student concert for music. I have to practice my trumpet and my other music out of school. For trumpet our whole class is practicing Jingle Bells and Dreydl Dreydl and I have to practice keep my music in tune or I will mess up and I don’t plan to do that. I will practice Jingle Bells and Dreydl Dreydl so I can get the right tune and so I don’t mess up in front of the audience. But I want to practice Dreydl Dreydl more because there are solo and because we didn’t get as much time to learn that song. That is what I want to practice this week but there are a lot more things I need to also practice!

When the christmas concert comes I hope that I do well because I practiced before the concert and “ Practice makes Perfect! “

Bonus : The man in the picture is Bruce Lee. He was a martial artist.
I think he was in the picture because he wants us to keep trying and practicing no matter what because if we give up we will never believe in ourselves, but if we keep on trying and believe in yourself you can do it! He is telling us that because he probably knows from experience and he wants us to practice to make perfect.

One of the things I noticed I struggled with was my multiplication and division, it just didn't come to me as fast as it would come to others. So one day in October my mom and I had free time together so we went to Tim Horton's and made multiplication and Division flash cards. Then every night she helped me practice with the flash cards. Now it comes easily to me and math in general is getting easier.

Bonus: the man in that photo was Bruce lee,
Bruce lee was a martial artist who stared in many movies such as Enter The Dragon, Fist Of Fury, The Big Boss and more.
I think Bruce Lee is in that photo because he is a role model
to tons of people from how hard he worked to get his success.

The one thing i want to practice is soccer. I started playing soccer when i was 6 years old and the sport was always fun for me. I always try to challenge myself to learn new skills. Practicing hat tricks is a fun challenge. At soccer practice we have free time to achieve our soccer goals. I plan to use my free time at practice to develop my skills.

The process of practicing my soccer skills was hard, but I had fun.

BONUS:
The man in the picture is Bruce Lee. He is famous for being trained by Yip Man. He would be in this picture because he practiced fighting when he was 14 years old. He was a hard worker that became a legend.

This week I wanted to practice the Clarinet since the winter concert is coming up.I practiced by signing the Clarinet out so that I could practice the 2 songs that we need to do and I practiced and practiced until I felt like I had the Guts to go up to the Stage and perform with everybody else.So that I could feel more comfortable in front of everybody at the concert I decided to practice in front of some of my family friends and dome of my family although it won't be the same because I feel more comfortable in front of them.It took a long time but I eventually got the hang of it.I definitely noticed that I was better at it than before.I had to especially work hard on Dreydl Dreydl because each of us got solos and we had to make sure that we didn't mess up and ruin the song. Those are just some of the things I want to practice but there are still a bunch of things I need to practice.

Bonus:The man in the picture is Bruce Lee.He was a famous martial artist.I think he is in that picture because he didn't just become a famous martial artist he needed practice. Also because he wants us to achieve our goals and not to give up.He's probably telling us that because he wants us achieve at our goals and he probably understands because he may have experienced it and he wants us to believe that we can do anything if we try and practice. "If You Spend Too Much Time Thinking About a Thing,You'll Never Get It Done".

PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT SO KEEP TRYING !

Coming up in April I have a major karate tournament in Quebec. All the karate REP teams are going. I want to represent my karate place and do very well. To do that I am going to need to practice very hard. I am going to train 3 times a week and go to all the REP team practices. I am also going to practice at home. I can also go to my karate teacher and ask for tips on how to improve. So by the time April comes I be even better because I practiced until I got better.

Bonus: The man in the picture is Bruce Lee. He was a famous Martial Artist. He developed an art called Jeet Kune Do. I think he is in the photo because he practiced very hard. I think he is a great role model because he never gave up. A famous quote he said was
"Mistakes are always forgivable, if one has the courage to admit them".

I LOVE to play basketball so I practice ALOT! I go to basketball lessons and I try to do my best. What I do to practice is I shoot the ball in the hoop over and over and over(and u guessed it.....AND OVER!)Then I try to play games with friends and focas on stealing the ball from then!
BONUS: The mans name is Bruce Lee. Bruce Lee was a Hong Kong American martial artist, Hong Kong action film actor, martial arts instructor, philosopher, filmmaker, and the founder of Jeet Kune Do. Lee was the son of Cantonese opera star Lee Hoi-Chuen. He has two kids named Brandon Lee and Shannon Lee. I think he is in the picture because he practiced over and over to become the man he is.

This week I really wanted to improve my hockey shot, so I did that by going into my garage and taking 200 shots a day. In my games my shot has been getting a lot better than it was before. I am going to keep on practicing to see how good my shot can get and how long it will take me. I'm trying to be able to get my slapshot off faster during games so that my forward can get the rebound and score. When my shot gets better than I will practice something else.

Bonus; The man in the picture is Bruce Lee, a famous martial artist known to be one of the most fluent and fierce fighters of all time. Bruce lee is an actor and in many different older (violent) movies. I think that he is in this picture because he practised really hard to get to be as good as he is. Bruce lee never gave up during his practises and got better in each one.

3 years ago my coach told my team a challenge "shoot 50 pucks on your driveway everyday!". So everyday I went to practice, practice and practice even more and sometimes I shot double! Now, 3 years later I have an amazing shot from the blue line. Just because of practice!

My dance teachers 3 years ago told me that for me to be good enough to be a pro I needed to practice all the time! Now I am really happy that I did that way when I start gymnastics I will have that courage and empowerment over not practicing. That way I can make good choices.

BONUS: The man in the picture is Bruce Lee. Bruce Lee was famous martial artist who practiced ALOT.

I am trying to practice my volleyball skills so I can make the junior boys volleyball team. My Mom bought me a volleyball and she and I have been practicing different skills that will help me make the volleyball team. Some of the things that we are practicing are volleying, serving and how to move around in a volleyball game.

The person in the picture is Bruce Lee.

I think he is pictured here because this was what he did to become one of the greatest martial artists to ever live.

What I am practicing a lot are speaking Chinese, basketball and Chinese yo-yo.
1. speaking Chinese
My parents told me not to forget Chinese, because when I have a job in the future, I maybe work with Chinese. If they don't know how to say English I can speak Chinese with them.
2. basketball
I like to play basketball, I am tall. If you want to play basketball well you need to practice a lot. Any time when I practice it before I play the game, I feel good! I can do better!
3.Chinese yo-yo
I play this toy in China. If someone don't know what it is, I will play it next week! I need a lot of practice to do that, there are hard tricks. Some people ask me how I can do that? I say:"Practicing!" My friends in China can do much better than me!!
Bonus: The man on the picture is Bruce Lee he was the master of martial art. I think people put him in the picture because when he was learning martial art he practiced a lot!

I am always practicing on how to beat video games so I can play against other players online. I usually do it on tuesday and the weekends, so I am okay. I need to work on my techniques for beating others, because I am always losing. The man in the picture is Bruce Lee, and he is there because he says, "Don't stop practicing".

Descriptive words is are a very good tool to keep in your Tool box.
So, That's why I want to practice my writing this week. My goal is to write as descriptive as possible, I want to push my self to be a good writer. That is why I am really trying to write better. Why? you ask.
So I can develop the confident to share my writing . I am doing this by, Picking a topic at home and writing at least 1 page with descriptive words. I have noticed that I am building more confidence to read out loud because I am very proud of my word usage.
I use words like Joyful instead of happy and miserable instead of sad
You can take these words and make much more progress out of just making synonyms out of them..

Bonus: The man in the picture is Bruce Lee.
He was a very famous martial artist He is been in many
Movies.
He is in the picture because his quote

"Mistakes are always forgiveable, if one has the courage
to admit them.

His quote has made a big difference because it may be small but
it is very powerful.

This week the school had volley-ball tryouts and I really wanted to make the team. So this week I decided to practice my volley-ball skills. I practiced every night and some nights my dad even showed me some new skills. Now looking back I think that it helped me a lot practicing at home. I think it helped me get better and have a better chance of making the team.

As the saying goes "practice makes perfect" I always live by this saying because you know matter what you do you need to practice whether you are one and practicing to walk or you are 100 and practicing to walk with a cane you always need to practice so that is what I like to do.

The thing that I am going to talk about and if I practice it and how I practice it is Music I love music I just like the way it sounds and how you need to work and practice to get it right and I play two instruments and this is how I work and practice both instruments.

The Tenor Saxophone: I music I play the Tenor Saxophone I really like it but like every single other instrument you need to practice at it to get better. With the Tenor Saxophone it can be a little frustrating at some times because if you blow to hard it will honk but that is part of learning music making mistakes but if I keep practicing and don't give up I will be good at the Tenor Saxophone.

The second instrument that I play is the piano and Piano the same like every other instrument you need to practice and work hard at it to succeed and be able to play songs and melody's. Piano can be hard like all instruments can because when you play the piano you need to learn both the bass clef and the treble clef and there is also things like accents and flats but when I kept on practicing I got the hang of it.

Bonus:
The man in the picture is Bruce Lee
why he is in the picture:
I think Bruce Lee is in the picture because he is one of the biggest martial arts stars in the world and he just didn't become a martial arts star he worked really hard for years and years and he practiced countless times Untill he got to where he was but when e became a star he didn't stop he pushed himself harder to improve his skills at martial arts and become better.

This week the thing I felt like I needed practice was playing the piano. I have lessons every week and this week I was playing a lot every day. I was practicing so much because my piano teacher has a Christmas party with all of her students and each of the students play a song. I was practicing because I don't like messing up in front of every one. It really helped because now I can play through the song perfectly.

Bonus: The man in the picture is Bruce Lee. He was a famous Marital artist and an actor. Martial arts requires a lot of training and practice so he obviously practiced a lot.

For this weeks homework I decided to work on my volleyball skills to get ready for the tryout later in the week, after a while I could really see the difference from when I was practicing and before and these are the steps I took to improve on my skills

The first step I took was just to practice the basics like accuracy and form this is really important because if you can't do these things you wont do good in a real game

The second thing I did was practice things like bumping a volleying this is also really important because you do this a lot in a game

The last thing I did was practice thing that are not that important like spiking or diving put you still need to be able to do these things.

BONUS: The guy in the picture is Bruce Lee, he is in the picture because he is known for practicing, practicing, and practicing and that is what that photo is about that as the saying goes "Practice makes Perfect"
