This week, we’re diving into the wild savannah with The Lion King—a movie full of powerful moments, unforgettable characters, and big life lessons. Whether it’s Simba learning to take his place in the Circle of Life or Timon and Pumbaa spreading laughs and loyalty, The Lion King has so much to teach us about what it means to grow up, be strong, and treat others with kindness.
For this week’s blog post, you get to pick one of two challenges—just like Simba had to choose whether to run from his past or face it. Are you ready? 📝🦁
✨ Choice 1: The Hard Work of Being BraveSimba didn’t become king overnight. He made mistakes, faced huge challenges, and had to work really hard to figure out who he was meant to be. Think about a time you had to work hard at something—maybe it was a tricky assignment, learning a new skill, or doing the right thing even when it was tough.
👉 What did you learn from that experience?
👉 How did your hard work help you grow, just like Simba?

💛 Choice 2: Kindness That Makes a DifferenceEven in the middle of big battles and tough moments, The Lion King shows us the power of friendship and kindness. Timon and Pumbaa stuck by Simba when he needed it most.
👉 Write about a time you showed kindness or someone showed it to you.
👉 How did that moment make a difference—for you, or someone else?

Whether you write about hard work or kindness, your job this week is to bring your story to life with detail, honesty, and heart. Think about what The Lion King taught you—and then show us how you’ve seen those lessons in real life.
Can’t wait to read your ROARSOME reflections! 🦁💬🔥

A time when I showed kindness was when I was in kindergarten. My best friend (wasn't back then) was building a block tower and someone kicked it down. I went over to help her so i said ’why did you do that’ to the kid who kicked it down and then he ran away. I asked the girl ‘’are you okay?’’ then she said ‘’’’yes’’’’ then we became best friends since kindergarten! That moment made a difference because it felt good to make someone happy and she saw that she could trust me.

Once I was playing a chess game with my dad and when it was close to the end I was at a disadvantage. We both had our queens but he had more pieces and I had no duplicate pieces (except for my pawns) and here’s the worst thing: most of my pieces were stuck in a corner.
I had to do something quick. I stopped and thought of where my pieces were on the board first. UM HELLO I SAID IT AT THE START OF THIS POST! Ok, second of all, I wondered if I could escape this trap or not. The answer was YES! After that I set up a trap with my queen and knight to take out my dad’s queen. With calm thinking and strategy, I won the game. What I learned from that game was that if you ever get stuck in a game, stay calm and think of the possible outcomes. I grew by learning that you can always be in tough situations but you always have to stay calm. You also have to practice by playing with friends and study chess tactics in a book or vid.

Once I showed kindness was when I saw 2 kids playing but then another kid asked to play but they said no so I told him he could play with me so then we played some cool games and then the other kids asked to play and we said yes and then the 3 kids all became Best Friends.

Once I was playing basketball and then someone got mad at me for scoring. He got the ball and shot the ball at me then I got a BIG bruise. I saw it. I said in my head that I will take care of it tomorrow, but I still was playing (I won) that is how I got through a tough time.

One night I had to be really brave because there was a huge centipede in my room and I was all alone. I was just getting ready to go to sleep when I noticed it crawling on my wall near my bed. It had so many legs and it moved super fast and I froze in place because I was really scared. My first thought was to run and yell for help but then I remembered how Simba had to face his fears in The Lion King and I wanted to be brave like him. So I took a deep breath and told myself I could do it. I grabbed a plastic cup and a piece of paper and slowly moved toward the centipede even though I felt nervous and my hands were shaking. The centipede ran a few times and I jumped back but I kept trying. After a few minutes I finally trapped it with the cup and carefully slid the paper under it. I opened my window and let the centipede outside into the night. I felt so proud that I didn’t scream or run away. I learned that bravery isn’t about never being scared it’s about doing something even when you are scared. That night I realized that I was stronger and braver than I thought. Just like Simba I didn’t give up and I faced something hard all by myself and now I know I can do it again next time.

One time I had to be brave and face my fear in hockey here is why:2 years ago, I had a hockey tournament and the game waz going well. But suddenly one of my teammates named Kylie: Fell into the boards and broke her collarbone and after we all found out she wouldn't play for the rest of the season anymore I felt a little scared because what if I ever got hurt like that?. But one game I saw a girl coming at me from behind and she checked me in to the boards there was no penalty. But after that moment I felt like I could get hurt but if I don't try or be scared to play hockey I could let my team down so now I know I can be scared but I shouldn't let fear get in front of me!

One time when I had to be brave was when I had to go on this really scary drop waterslide and my 12 year old cousin said he was going to go before to make me comfortable going. But when we were first in line and we were about to go and my cousin Ethan said I am not going first. His dad was with us and he said that I had to go before him because that was the rule(my uncle said that not my cousin). My mom was also there but she had to take my brother down because he was too short but she was still up there to watch me. So I decided that I would give my cousin courage to go down so I went before him and then my Uncle went and then my cousin.
