This is a fun game for students to play as they develop a working knowledge of the parts of speech. Grammar Ninja has three levels for students to work through. As long as you answer questions correctly, they continue through the game, but answer incorrectly and the words explode

Jet Ski Addition is an amazing game in which student can test their math skills against other students or the computer.  It is simple, addictive, and a great way to have fun while learning math!

Learning Planet has games for kids of all ages.  The math games are fun and very helpful!

This is a great site that
offers more than two dozen categories of spelling games. Each game has the same format; as words fall from the top of the screen, players have to “catch” the appropriate letters in the correct sequence to spell the word displayed at the top of the game. Players “catch” letters by moving a cursor at the bottom of the page.

This is a fun educational website for students in elementary school grades. Pest World for Kids has a great index of pests which includes information on what they look like, where they are found, and how to prevent pest infestations. There are four educational games that students will enjoy playing as they learn about insects and rodents.

This website allows students to create their own paintings by using the mouse and picking colours.  It's great for getting kids to express themselves using art, technology, as well as the elements of design.

Bitstrips is a cool comic design website in which assignments are given to students and they create comics that express knowledge learned in class.

A website designed exclusively for K-12 students in Ontario, it has games, links to government created resources as well as online manipulatives.  A great way to practice math with the whole family.

This is the link to our classes book adventure website.  Students are to use their username which is steltman# (each student will know their number and then enter the password steltman1.)  With this, they can search the book they have read and answer a quiz that demonstrates their comprehension of the book. BBC Dance Mat Typing is another great way to practice using the home row keys and to get familiar with typing.  This fun resource starts out easier and builds to better and faster typing skills.

Spell Up is a new Google Chrome experiment that allows students to practice spelling, pronunciation, and word awareness all within a fun, game type format.  It must be run within Google Chrome as your web browser.

dreambox is math program that has been purchased by the HDSB. It is a program that learns and changes itself based on student responses.  It is very intuitive but can only work if student's do the work ALONE.  It is highly recommended that students work in sessions of at least 20 minutes.
